Famicom Dojo Podcast: Oh Yeah OUYA

The Ouya is making waves in the console world. Not many get a chance to be a part of history and fund a new console that could change the way we look at console gaming. But will it? Can it even make money? And what value is the experience if hackers are encouraged to do what they want?

Vinnk and Sean grapple with these questions, answer listener voicemail, and talk about the new Famicom Dojo episode The Neo Geo Affair, and the onslaught of videos that are being released every week for the rest of the summer!

Famicom Dojo: The Neo Geo Affair

Continuing the 16-bit wars after the introduction of the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16, we turn to a “24-bit” system that was truly like the arcade machines that its competitors were trying to emulate.

Vinnk reveals his decade-long tryst with SNK’s Neo Geo Advanced Entertainment System, the one console in the 16-bit generation that made good on its promise of arcade-quality graphics on a home console, and the hefty price tag to back it up.

$20 Game of the Week: Anomaly – Warzone Earth (PC, IOS, Android, Xbox Live Arcade)

Tower Defense games are a dime a dozen. How many Tower OFFENSE games have you played? That’s right, instead of putting up the cannons that blast the enemies, you direct them as they make their way to the end point. 11Bit Studio’s Anomaly – Warzone Earth is unique among its kind. In Anomaly, you take control of a commander as you thwart an alien invasion by leading your convoy towards huge domes that have appeared throughout Baghdad and Tokyo. You’ll direct their route, changing it on the fly when needed. Your battle suit gives you a selection of powers, such as the ability to put up a smoke screen or repair your vehicles. While the controls are shaky and take time getting used to, the gameplay manages to stand out and add an interesting twist to the tower defense formula.

The Powet Top 5 – Best Disney Channel series

Walt Disney Television Logo

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.

Disney Channel shows get a bad rap! I get a lot of flack to watching them. While they are at times pretty horrible, there are a few of them that are really good and worth checking out. While everything on this list is admittedly fairly juvenile, and often subject to cliches, these shows are often very funny, and are a kind of proving ground for some pretty good actors.

Disney makes a lot of shows, but this list is just about Disney Channel series. This means nothing from the Disney afternoon or anything that wasn’t made for Disney Channel proper will be included. I also understand that everyone is in love with Phineas and Ferb but I haven’t watched that show so it’s not on my list. If you don’t like my list, let us know what yours is!

SDCC 2012: Kaitlyn Leeb, the woman with three boobs from Total Recall

Kaitlyn Leeb, the woman with 3 boobs, with Jessica Biel, Melina from Total Recall at SDCC 2012

Kaitlyn Leeb, who will star in the upcoming Total Recall remake as the prostitute with three breasts made an in costume appearance at San Diego Comic-con and makes us wish we had 3 hands! Kaitlyn worked at the Total Recall booth and even posed with fellow Total Recall stars Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston. We here at Powet are big fans of the original prostitute with three boobs from Total Recall and are very excited to see Kaitlyn in action in what will surely be the defining role of her career. She can be seen in the latest trailer which we posted a few weeks ago when we first talked about this very important character.

The question on everyone’s mind of course is which boobs are real and which are fake? Well, as Kaitlyn has mentioned on twitter, they’re actually all prosthetics.

Jessica Biel's twitter photo of Kaitlyn Leeb, the woman with 3 boobs, with Jessica Biel, Melina from Total Recall at SDCC 2012

Jessica Biel shared a photo of her and Kaitlyn Leeb saying “I found the most popular girl at #ComicCon! Two girls, five boobs. #TotalRecall”. Intentional 2 girls 1 cup reference? Maybe…

Total Recall hits theatres August 3rd. Keep reading for more photos of Kaitlyn Leeb at SDCC 2012.
