Power Rangers Mega Battle

Fans of the old school Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series will want to take a look at this. Developed by Bamtang and published by Namco Bandai, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle is a multiplayer action brawler for up to 4 players. The game will feature cutscenes, monsters, and dialogue based on the original series, and will also feature unlockable characters. The game will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 next year. If the gameplay can keep in line with the graphics, MMPR:MB will be an excellent flashback to our childhood.

Obscure SNES Shooter Wild Guns Gets PS4 Exclusive Remake

In the remakes of games you never expected but secretly wanted department, Natsume had revealed footage of it’s upcoming remake/sequel to the SNES sleeper hit Wild Guns. The original game was a sci-fi meets western shoot-em-up where players took control of Annie or Clint as they hunted down criminals. The game was a third person gallery shooter which was from played behind the character, in the tradition of classic arcade games such as NAM 1975 and Cabal. Wild Guns Reloaded adds two new characters: Doris, a bounty hunter with the galactic federation, and Bullet, a Dachshund. That’s right, a dog. The game will also feature a mix of classic and new levels, a remade soundtrack, and 4 player co-op.

DC Universe Coming to Xbox One….Wait WHAT!?

dcuniverse

5 years ago, Sony Online Entertainment released the free-to-play MMORPG DC Universe Online on PC and PS3. It launched alongside the PS4 as well. Since then, SOE has changed its name to Daybreak Studios, and evidently broke off ties with Sony. To that end, they figured why not share the wealth and allow Xbox One players to get in on the comic book based action. For the uninitiated, DC Universe Online allows characters to create an original character, and join one of 6 major DC heroes and villains and tackle a series of quests all around the DC Universe. There is plenty enough content on its own, however players can spend extra dime on various add-ons such as expansions and new powersets. Also, PS4 players will be able to play alongside PC gamers, and the game will receive a new episode based on DC’s upcoming Legends of Tomorrow tv series. You can learn more about the upcoming features as the game celebrates its 5-year anniversary here.

E3: Bethesda Goodness & Microsoft

e3

During game 5 of the NBA playoffs last night, Bethesda held their big pre-E3 press conference. While there were few surprises (indeed, Dishonored 2 was suspected to have been leaked a few nights prior), there was some amazing stuff on display. This morning, Microsoft held their press conference. While many could guess their lineup, Microsoft had a few big surprises as well.

Famicom Dojo Podcast: The Osborne Effect (Live at DaishoCon 2014)

Famicom Dojo Podcas 112: The Osborne Effect

There are problems with announcing new hardware that’s not available everywhere, such as the New 3DS coming out in Japan but not the US, including features that the regular 3DS does not have, yet Nintendo claims that because the North American market hasn’t peaked yet with the old hardware that it will hold off releasing it. Instead, we’re getting a line of special 3DS designs (never minding that a feature of the New 3DS is removable faceplates). Vinnk and Sean (well, mostly just Sean) head off to the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells for this first-ever live recording of the Famicom Dojo podcast, wondering why anyone would even get a 3DS for the holidays when a new one will probably be out in 2015. This is only the sort of thing you can get away with because of region locking. Vinnk explains his person Osborne Effect with Smash Bros. for 3DS, and Sean gushes about P.T., which he played on his new PS4. Plus, questions from our live audience!

No, you’re not going crazy. This is still the Famicom Dojo Podcast feed, but we wanted to share this one-off Powetcast reunion. (Although, warning: this episode is explicit.) Sean gathers (most of) the old Powet.TV crew to discuss the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the next-gen video game systems we’re playing, 30 years of Transformers, 50 years of Doctor Who, and which comics are still worth reading.

Famicom Dojo Podcast 111: First World Problems

Magazines have themselves become a retro medium, but what if someone could use that to their advantage in a dying industry? Double-win if you can tie it to retro video games. That’s exactly what we have with our guests this week! Vinnk and Sean welcome co-founders Mike Kennedy and Mark Kaminski of Retro Magazine to talk about their Year 2 Kickstarter, and their favorite retro games. They also stick around for Future Retro and Pile of Shame to share some really interesting games we (or at least some of us) haven’t played before!

Famicom Dojo Podcast 109: The Horror

Silent Hills demo… JUMP SCARE!!
