The BifBangPow twitter account just dropped a bomb on us. It looks like they will be expanding their offerings for the Venture Bros. with a new 3 3/4 inch line of action figures. Pictured are Brock Sampson, Hank and Dean with their hoverscooters and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch. No word on price nor availability yet. We will update this post with more as we hear it.
The little-known-yet-totally-awesome geek band from Seattle, WA – Kirby Krackle – had some pretty sweet pictures coming out of their Twitter from Preview Night at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, from exclusive figures and models of Deadpool and Ghost Rider’s bike, to a full scale model of the mech armor from Suckerpunch, to a huge lego-esque Super CoCo!
Huge props to Kirby Krackle for these awesome photos for those of us who couldn’t make it!
ToyArk.com is apparently wandering the hall at SDCC a little early and managed to snag a picture of the first wave of Marvel Legends after their multi-year hiatus.
It is with great pleasure I can tell you the wave consists of:
Klaw
Constrictor
Steve Rogers
Thor
Extremis Armor Thor
Hope Summers
Ghost Rider (I have no idea what version this is. New to me. Movie?)
and the previously announced Build-A-Figure; Terrax.
So we have 2 villains, a movie figure, an X-Man and the Avengers core team to round out the first wave. Seems pretty well balanced to me.

Today Capcom announced Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for November 2011, an updated version of Marvel vs Capcom 3 which came out in February. So far the only officially announced new characters for the updated version are Strider (Capcom), Firebrand (Capcom), Ghost Rider (Marvel), and Hawkeye (Marvel).
Joystiq noticed that art for character profiles was on Capcom’s web server and was able to download the full list of new characters. Capcom has since taken them down, but it seems likely this is the final lineup. Capcom: Strider, Firebrand, Vergil, Frank West, Phoenix Wright, Nemesis Marvel: Ghost Rider, Dr Strange, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye, Iron Fist
This morning, I caught wind that LEGO had gotten the full DC Comics license. The deal will allow LEGO to create figures and playsets based on the characters and properties of DC Comics. The line will launch in January with 13 characters including Joker, Bane, Lex Luthor, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. The first pieces from the line will be on display at the LEGO booth at SDCC 2011 this weekend along with 3,000 Batman and Green Lantern exclusive figures as part of a promotion for the line.
The Marvel announcement stated that their deal would similarly cover figures and playsets. The license would take effect January 1, 2012 and would start seeing products roll out about May of 2012. The Super Heroes Marvel Collection would focus on the Avengers movie as well as classic Spider-man and X-Men characters. Some of the characters specifically mentioned included Wolverine, Nick Fury, Magneto, Deadpool, Spider-man, Doctor Octopus, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Loki and more. Select items, again, will be on display at SDCC 2011 this weekend.
It looks like both licenses will be brought under LEGO’s new Super Heroes line. LEGO scored a major coup with these two licenses and surely dealt a very strong blow to Hasbro’s up and coming construction block brand, KRE-O. Can KRE-O strike back with Star Wars?

It was first hinted at by a panel description for SDCC 2011, happening this weekend, but we now have a trailer to share and more information to be revealed at SDCC. THQ is bringing Voltron: Defender of the Universe to XBox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network. Retailing for about ten dollars, the game will feature 5 player co-op, 2 player co-op offline, and single player modes.
We will share more information as it comes out of the convention this weekend!
Last night, G4’s Attack of the Show got the world exclusive reveal for all of Mattel’s SDCC 2011 exclusives. They were so gracious about the exclusive reveal that they only showed a few of the many items actually filmed while ignoring some of the high profile exclusives including the MOTU Classics item.
Continue on after the jump for the rest of the exclusives with pictures, details, and some commentary! [Read the rest of this entry…]
