Civil War 2 is coming to Marvel Comics

CivilWar2-IronMan_vs_CaptainMarvel

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Marvel is planning a successor to Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven’s Civil War storyline from 2006. A product of the company’s semi annual editorial retreat where storylines are planned out for years to come, Civil War 2 will apparently pit Iron Man against Captain Marvel and feature the death of a hero, as so many of these comic events now do.

A mysterious new Marvel character comes to the attention of the world, one who has the power to calculate the outcome of future events with a high degree of accuracy,” according to the synopsis. “This predictive power divides the Marvel heroes on how best to capitalize on this aggregated information, with Captain Marvel leading the charge to profile future crimes and attacks before they occur, and Iron Man adopting the position that the punishment cannot come before the crime.

Civil War 2 kicks off in May. Not so coincidentally, Marvel’s feature film, Captain America: Civil War, will be coming to theaters that same month.

Powet Alphabet: N is for Nick Fury

Since the alphabet is the building block of our language, the Powet Alphabet is the building block of what makes us geeks.

In a universe full of Super Soldiers, gods, mutants, monsters, robots, and just about everything else you can imagine, there is one organization that we can rely upon to keep tabs on all the madness and keep everything, and everyone, in line. That’s the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Division, more commonly known as S.H.I.E.L.D. And for the longest time, one man has been at the center of it all: Nicholas Fury. Nick has been many things during his lifetime: an amateur boxer, a WWII hero, a CIA agent, and a super spy. His most notable job was the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. While he may not shoot beams out of his eyes, have adamantium claws, wear a suit of armor, or have the proportionate strength of a spider, he is just as vital, if not more vital to the Marvel Universe, as any of its greatest meta-human champions.

SDCC 2010: Marvel Universe, Legends, Movie figures and more

Hasbro and Marvel held their panel for their various action figure lines and there were some surprises including a promise to return to Marvel Legends in a big way in 2012. I take back what I said in this post, but I hope we are back to full waves of single figures and not these 2-packs. Its certainly a way off, but any news is good news at this point.

In the meantime, lets look at some of the big reveals for everything else they had to talk about after the jump!

More images will be added as things are put in display cases and pictures of those start coming in.

Mark Millar: “Games are for Pedos”

Last Civil War banner I ever make, promise.
Newsarama has an interview up with Marvel’s Mark Millar addressing questions about the recent event Civil War. Toward the end of the interview he unloaded quite a shock…

NRAMA: Finally, before we let you go, what is interesting you/what are you working on outside the realm of comic book publishing?

MM: Like all my pals, the TV and movie people have come calling and even the computer game people (which is weird because games are for pedos and I have no interest).

Uh, what the hell is that supposed to mean, Mark? Are you a little bitter that video games have taken such a massive chunk of revenue out of your target audience?
If he dislikes games thats one thing, but this is kind of insane and I hope he didn’t mean that.
