Transformers Dark Of The Moon: What Did You Think?

The third, and perhaps final, live action Transformers movie from Michael Bay has been released.

Did you see it? Was it better than the second? Better than the first? Better than Green Lantern or Cars 2?

Give us your thoughts, impressions, gut reactions and snarky comments. The best comments will be read on our next podcast!

Powetcast: Drunk And On Fire

This is the worst episode we’ve ever done. Have a listen! Seriously, my audio is way lower than the rest of the guys, I don’t know what happened. Usually I swallow the microphone. Whoops!

The rest of the guys are aDam, Captain Genius, and our new challenger Ernie.

There are in fact, considerable outtakes from this episode that might pop up later. Stay tuned.

Team Fortress 2 Is Now Free To Play

Team Fortress 2, Valve Software’s Pixar-like multiplayer shooter, is now free to play. The game will be supported entirely by microtransactions such as character customizations.

You can download the game via your Steam client if you didn’t have it already, or visit Teamfortress.com to get set up. The game is available on both PC and Mac OSX with cross platform play.

Should we do a Powet Game Night, or what?

‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ 2nd Trailer

This new trailer for Cap focuses strongly on Steve Rogers pre-transformation. The effects to make Chris Evans not only skinny, but short, are really impressive. He’s almost hobbit sized.

“Forty Six & 2” by Tool is used to great effect. A really amazing tune by an amazing band, the movement of the music kicks in right as Steve is revealed and there are hints of some good fights in the second half of the trailer. And because we need to be beaten over the head with the Marvel cinematic universe, Howard Stark (Tony’s father) is featured and named in this trailer too.

An HD version of the trailer is being hosted by Yahoo.

Why isn’t this movie opening on July 4 for the US Independence day? Will you see it?

E3 Exclusive: Halo 4 has Master Chief vs Unicron

This is very important, guys. Microsoft has unveiled the teaser trailer for the long awaited sequel to Halo 3. Said to be the beginning of a new trilogy, Halo 4 will see John 117 aka The Master Chief return as the hero after he is lost in space.

The trailer is pure excitement and features the return of Jen Taylor as Cortana and Steve Downes as Master Chief. Chief is awakened in a panic while in cryonic sleep to see the already ravaged UNSC ship Forward Unto Dawn being torn apart. As he jets to where the bridge of the ship once stood, Chief looks out into the maw of the monster planet Unicron.

Unicron first appeared in the 1986 Transformers The Movie and has reappeared in several TV series and comic spinoffs of that franchise. What business the Chaos Bringer has with a Spartan from Reach is of complete mystery, but I’m sure if Cortana can help Master Chief open the Matrix, everything will be all right.

Halo 4 launches on XBox 360 in late 2012. The Unicron action figure will be available as an Amazon exclusive later this year. [Read the rest of this entry…]

Powetcast: DC Reboot Stages Of Grief

Zac, Genius, Sean, and Logan strive to make sense of their emotions in the face of the entire DC universe being wiped clean this fall. We discuss rights, digital distribution, erasing characters, the silver age roll-back, and the modern age foul ups.
We also accept that it might not be Jim Lee’s fault, even if Superman has a collar and fishnet pants now.
