Recently, Duke Nukem Forever was released. As everyone knows, this game was in development for so long, that it was feared to be canceled at one point. With the lukewarm reception the game has received, it might as well have been canceled. However, not all games are fortunate enough to see a release, let alone after this long. The following is a list of releases that never made it off the cutting room floor. BTW, this list does not include ports or translations of games that were canceled, just games that were canceled completely, so you can miss me with the emails about why the Dreamcast version of Shenmue 2 isn’t on here.

Because it bears repeating: Bioshock is one of the best games of this, or any, generation. Its available on PS3, XBox 360, PC, or MacIrrational Games gave us a tiny slice of Bioshock Infinite, their follow up to the original, at E3 last month. Behind closed doors, they showed invited guests more than the 90 second teaser, but 15 minutes of gameplay. Showcasing not only the action (which is crazy!) but the characters of the game (who are interesting!). New powers are expected, but this scene truly shows how special Elizabeth is. Also, the ‘big daddy’ of this game is called the Song Bird and he’s pretty awesome looking.
If this early look is willing to spill this much of the game out in front of us, I think we can expect a lot of surprises in the final release, due in 2012.

Xenoblade, Pandora’s Tower, and The Last Story have been released in Japan and Europe, but the US has been passed over. That’s where Operation Rainfall comes in: to urge Nintendo of America to release these games that have already been localized for the major languages spoken in North America. At a time when the Wii is suffering a drought of games — let alone good ones — don’t we deserve better?

Obviously, as this is the end credits song from the game, the above video may include story spoilers for those who have not completed the Portal 2.
