Hasbro’s next big film, Battleship, is coming in 2012. It will be loosely based off of the popular board game of the same name. The film will star Liam Neeson, Rhianna, and Taylor Kitsch.
Konami has certainly been bossing-up their Metal Gear Solid regiment at this year’s Comic-Con, what with game producer Hideo Kojima making an appearance, and this little tidbit certainly shows that with a release of the board game “Risk” all dressed up in a MSG attire.
“MGS” version of the board game “RISK” from Hasbro has been released. There were some products displayed at their booth, and logo bandana was provided.
There has been a large fan initiative among the Transformers fandom to continue the original Generation One Marvel comic book that ended somewhat abruptly at issue 80. After it was announced that Larry Hama would be picking up the torch on the original Marvel GI Joe comic, Transformers fans have been clamoring the same to happen for the G1 Marvel comic. Since then, both Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman have voiced their support for such a project and that they would be more than willing to return to their roles as writer and artist, respectively.
The IDW/Hasbro comics panel just ended. Transformers fans were told at the beginning that they will want to stay for the full panel and sure enough, those who did, were treated to the announcement that Transformers #81 would be happening and the series would conclude with issue #100. Mark your calendars, folks. An internet petition actually did something.
ToyArk.com is apparently wandering the hall at SDCC a little early and managed to snag a picture of the first wave of Marvel Legends after their multi-year hiatus.
It is with great pleasure I can tell you the wave consists of:
Klaw
Constrictor
Steve Rogers
Thor
Extremis Armor Thor
Hope Summers
Ghost Rider (I have no idea what version this is. New to me. Movie?)
and the previously announced Build-A-Figure; Terrax.
So we have 2 villains, a movie figure, an X-Man and the Avengers core team to round out the first wave. Seems pretty well balanced to me.
A great deal of concern has been voiced in the Transformers fandom about the fate of the Generations line after the Dark of the Moon toy line runs its course and the Transformers Prime toy line gets kicked off at the end of the year. Online retailer, Kapow Toys checked in with Full Metal Hero to let us all know that they just received solicitations for a new wave of Generations figures along with a case breakdown for the new wave.
The case will include:
2x Wheeljack
1x Sergeant Kup
1x Warpath
2x Black Shadow
2x Junkion
Black Shadow is expected to be a Thunderwing repaint with a newly tooled head. We heard of this based on the instructions included with Thunderwing. I believe we heard that there were three heads created for the Junkion mold. One was for Wreck-Gar, another for the Japanese exclusive E-Hobby set and the third was set for an North American release. It can be expected that this Junkion will have the aforementioned third head.
I am really loving these shorts. Hasbro’s KRE-O construction block brand has put up another video on youtube. This time its a talent show spoof done in stop motion animation. Enjoy!

We’ve talked about KREO before on this site, but now that the KREO kits have hit toy shelves, the marketing push has hit full steam. Here, we have a fantastic example of stop-motion animation using KREO kits and Kreon figures. Love these types of shorts.
There was a table in the Botcon dealer room, to which, I kept going back. They had very reasonable prices on domestic hasbro releases and some third party items that were not outrageous. One of the third party items I kept eyeing were a couple recently released headmaster figures in the likeness of Soundwave and Optimus Prime. Not only did these figures become heads for headmaster-compatible figures, but they also had an alternate mode.
Robot mode. Alternate Mode. Headmaster Mode. But wait, there is more! These figures come with a small plate that allows one to form the head of the other figure’s robot mode. Its a pretty crazy and neat concept, but does it work well?
