There’s a lot of sites out there with transcripts (or approximations thereof) of the DC Nation panel, and the vast majority of it seems to be rehashing old knowledge and witty banter. That said, there were at least a couple nuggets of knowledge worth gnawing on:
- New (?) Terra shows up in Supergirl #12 (issue to be drawn by Amanda Conner), and this will be the Terra on the Titans East team coming up in Teen Titans, which will be led by Deathstroke.
- A Terra miniseries is still coming, but after that Supergirl appearance
- Cassandra Cain (the recent Batgirl) will also be on Teen Titans East
- A General Zod more like the one from Superman II will be showing up somewhere, sometime
- Brave & The Bold will be a team-up book, with issue #1 starring Batman & Green Lantern, #2 with Supergirl, Green Lantern, Batman, & Blue Beetle, #3 will have all of them, plus a backup with Lobo & Adam Strange
- All 3 heroes in space in 52 will not be returning… so based on the previous bit, it seems that Adam Strange will probably still (unsurprisingly) remain in space
- The upcoming 5 issue extension of Manhunter will lead into an upcoming Wonder Woman story
- Diana Prince will show up in 52, somewhere, sometime
- Ambush Bug will be in issue #24 of 52, as will Checkmate, Suicide Squad, and Martian Manhunter
- There will be a Nightwing annual in early ’07
- Is Roy Harper becoming the Red Arrow, a la Kingdom Come? “Not really.”
- Seven Soldiers will be coming out next month, they tell us yet again
- Meltzer is writing 14 issues of JLA total, including issue #0
- Despite the fact that we’re getting an All-Star Batgirl, and despite the fact that there’s nowhere to get Barry Allen stories, there are no plans for an All-Star Flash book

Big Barda, Martian Manhunter, and Deadshot, from the new wave of JLU figures
There are tiny figures of female characters all over this line. Supergirl literally looks like a small girl compared to the giganticly manly Superman. Stargirl wasn’t that big to begin with so being short is expected in the toy.
But not Barda. Barda should be a head taller than J’onn J’onzz instead of barely meeting his oversized green torso.
This is not that Barda lovingly honored by novelist Michael Chabon. This looks like a child in a Barda outfit.
Oh well. The rest of the wave has some pretty good figures, including Vigilante, Sinestro, and an appropriately sized Huntress.
Target will get a 6 pack with an exclusive Doomsday figure in additon to another Batman, Superman, and Wonderwoman. I’m as big a beleiver in the Trinity as anyone, but let them rest, Mattel.

Snakes on a Plane #1 (of 2)
Written by Chuck Dixon, art by Gordon Purcell, covers by J.G. Jones and Jerome K. Moore
For the sake of honesty, I’m going to be perfectly up front and admit that I will not be buying this comic. I just want the world to know that it exists. Also, this image I believe is just for the variant cover, for all you Snakes on a Plane comic book collectors out there. The normal one should just be photo work. Exciting!
Since that’s just about all the nice things I have to say about the book, here’s DC’s fantastic description of it:
You’ve heard the Internet buzz…seen the hair-raising trailer…now experience the 2-part comic-book adaptation of the sensational soon-to-be released major motion picture from New Line Cinema Snakes on a Plane, written by Chuck Dixon (NIGHTWING) with art by Gordon Purcell and painted covers by J.G. Jones (52) and Jerome K. Moore (JSA: LOST)!
Snakes on a Plane stars Samuel L. Jackson as an FBI agent assigned to escort a government witness on a flight to Los Angeles. But when a crimelord sets loose hundreds of deadly snakes during the flight, the agent must band together with the pilot, frightened crew and passengers in a desperate attempt to survive and protect his witness!

First the bad news…
By way of Joe, we find out Civil War #4 and #5 have been delayed over a month from their original ship date. As if that wasn’t bad enough, all the tie-in books like Fantastic 4, Frontline, Punisher, and Spider-Man have been delayed too. Newsarama has the full run down.
I don’t think it would be unfair to be upset with Marvel for not only the delay but the last minute notification. I mean a lot of fans aren’t going to find out this has slipped until they walk into the shop tomorrow and find their pull box bare. Given the magnitude of the slip and the number of titles involved, I’d say Marvel knew this was going to happen and didn’t want to tell us. For shame.
On a comparitivly optimistic note, the revamp Justice Leage of America #1 has only been delayed until next week, August 23rd.
Writer/Mastermind Brad Meltzer has posted on his blog. That DC informed him of the slip but didn’t provide an explaination. Eager to not disappoint, Meltzer informs fans “One more week. They promised. If not, we revolt and I send out the scans online.”
JLA readers do get a bonus, the first chapter from Meltzer’s new novel “The Book of Fate“

THE BOYS #1
written by Garth Ennis, art by Darick Robertson
This Wednesday Garth Ennis delivers unto us another dark, deviant look at superhero comics, and he’s dragged Darick Robertson into doing the art chores. They’ve done some work together on some little book called The Punisher. You might’ve heard of it.
Here, ‘The Boys’ refers specifically to our five main characters, who all share a deep, personal hate-on for superheroes. And while it’s not clear what exactly they’ll be doing to fight the heroes of their world, based on the preview available at DC’s site, I wouldn’t be surprised to find that they’re out for blood. Nothing like the comforting visual of hands without a body attached.
Ennis has a solid track record at delivering a fantastically dark take on superheroes, so if you’ve enjoyed any of his work before, this is definitely one not to miss.

Ok fans, get comfortable because there are a LOT of updates in this one. Instead of the usual breaking up the updates by company, this time around I’m going to break it up by properties (ie. Transformers, Marvel Superheroes, Star Trek, etc)
To view all the updates, continue on after the jump. Please note that I will be updating this constantly for a while until I feel I got everything I needed to.
