What a year! 2011 brought its share of good games, bad weather (including a tsunami that devastated parts of Japan), and lots of changes for Famicom Dojo. Sean and Vinnk discuss what games they’re looking forward to in 2012, if the PS Vita is already a failure before it’s even been released in the US, and if the Wii U will be making its appearance before the end of the year.

Funny you should mention the Satellaview. �We just got a boxed one… �And I want Xenoblade as well.

Resolution? To finally play through Hyperdimension Neptunia.

Prediction? Playstation Vita fails miserably at retail, but muddles through after pre-Christmas price drop.

Wii U launch delayed until early 2013, and DS Reader add-on announced. No Mario game shown at E3.

Microsoft has a teaser reel for the next generation Xbox at E3, but does not show actual hardware.

3DS continues to have a fantastic year, thoroughly crushing Vita, and 3DS Lite announced.

Site suggestion? Post the phone number to call in for the podcast somewhere on the site. If it is here, I don’t see it. I can’t really jot it down when I am in the car on the way to and from work.

The PS Vita has already been a commercial failure… in Japan, at least.

I don’t think we got a chance to talk about it since some of these numbers came in after we recorded this last show, but the Vita was beat out its first week by the 3DS — not by much, but it wasn’t a good showing for new hardware.

This most recent week? �I think Vinnk said the 3DS outsold it 8:1.

BAD news. They’ll need a price drop at the VERY least. :O

I just found out that there was a host of problems with the Vita after being released in Japan. Well Sony your just handing the power over to the 3DS.

I’ll make another post later about the ideas and such i have. I have been thinking about the website as well.

I started Dragon Age on a harder difficulty and now I can’t kill the archdemon.
I haven’t tried Dragon Age 2 yet but i’m not happy to hear it isn’t as good as the first one.� For 2012, I’m really hoping EA isn’t�going to�wreck BioWare, there aren’t many decent game companies left out there.

Microsoft already beat the WiiU to the market with the 360 :)� I predict the WiiU will do very well, and I will find it almost completely worthless 🙂

As for the Vita, Sony just doesn’t get people, and they aren’t going to start any time soon.� They get hardware, they make good hardware..� I would even go out on a limb and say the best hardware, but they don’t get people.� Putting out the best handheld hardware-wise gets you no where if you get�lousy developer support, bungle the marketing, targeting�and release, antagonize your customers and end up with crappy software and no one in your corner hoping you succeed.� More of the same from Sony.

I resolve to find out where all my money is going and plug the leak this year.� Also, I bought Rocksmith, so I expect it to make me into Hendrix before the world ends.

Oh, it’s still around. �I need to cut it together, because we had to switch cameras halfway through…

You CAN ramp down the difficulty in Dragon Age if you want an easier fight for the Archdemon. �It might feel dishonest, but there aren’t any achievements tied to it (I don’t think), and I did it a couple of times for the big fights. �The difficulty was so bad, it almost made me throw the game away before I realized you could select your entire party to attack a single target.
