Hasbro had lots of new Super Hero Squad assortments on display. I couldn’t really tell you whats new and what isn’t, but some of the multi-packs fascinated me. The one above includes Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Loki, Enchantress, and a Frost Giant! Notables single figures (from the 2-pack assortments) include MODOK, Taskmaster, Spiral, Bucky Cap, Ronan the Accuser and Thanos.

This weekend Marvel is going to be showing off posters for their next two big movie offerings. Captain America and Thor concept art posters will be available from Marvel Studios and Paramount.
If you can’t make it to the show, or fear you’ll simply be lost in the vast expanse of one of geekdom’s biggest weekends, then you’ll be happy to check here to see the full artwork on each poster. Captain America takes to the streets of World War II Europe, and The Mighty Thor swings his hammer at rival Loki. Neither of these are direct stills from the movies, but will give you a really good idea what to expect.
Marvel.com has posted the first still image from the upcoming Thor movie featuring Thor, Odin and Loki. We briefly saw Odin a while back in an ET spot, but this is the first clear image of he and Loki. Don’t know about anyone else, but I definitely get a Kirby vibe from Odin and Loki’s costumes. Entertainment Tonight recently filed this behind the scenes fluff from the set of Marvel’s Thor movie. In it Chris Hemsworth talks more about being on the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars more than being the god of thunder, but hey, thats the ET audience.
Still we get some look at the sets and a few characters in costume. I’m still no closer to knowing how this will all end up looking or feeling, but for those curious its worth 4 minutes to watch the youtube video before ET runs in an takes it down.

A few weeks back Marvel showed off the first image of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and we all thought it was pretty cool. You know what else is cool? This.
Collider has posted images very similar to the concept art we saw of Captain America yesterday.
While I don’t question the authenticity of either Thor or Cap’s concept artwork, the style of the costumes suggests something more modern than WWII or Asgard would probably produce. I get the feeling these are Thor’s modern day Earth superhero clothes rather than his native garb.
On the otherhand, we have no idea what Kenneth Branagh and Marvel intend Asgard to look like, so you be the judge.

Fellow poweteers Sindra and Raistlin joined me this past weekend at the Fall ’09 Boston Comic Con. This small convention has started getting attention and has been growing by leaps and bounds each show. Traditionally held at the Back Bay Events Center near Copley Square, the show runs twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
