The Nintendo press conference has already gone down, the Microsoft one is still coming. Want some of the important points of an already insanely busy day?
Nintendo Wii still doesn’t have a release date (they say “Q4”) or a price (everyone implies $249), but it does have a launch list including Zelda Twilight Princess, which will be released on both GameCube and Wii on the same day. Other announced Wii titles: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, New Fire Emblem, Rayman, Sonic Wildfire, and Super Mario Galaxy!
And anyone worried that the WiiMote won’t be any good for playing older games on the virtual console need only look at the attahed image.

Former Dreamcast and current Xbox 360 pitchman Peter Moore has a seat on the couch with various 1up.com editors in this set of videos. Part 1 part 2
If you’ve got 20 minutes, a broadband connection, and a hankerin’ to see what Moore has to say its worth watching. He doesn’t stay on message as much as the infamous EGM interview. If you don’t have the time, I’ll bulletpoint some of the important bits… [Read the rest of this entry…]
Major Leage Gaming has landed a major deal with the USA Network to broadcast its 2006 Championship Season in 7 hour-long installments.
See the MLG coverage blitz in action.
Two games definitely on the roster this year are long-time favorites Super Smash Brothers Melee on Gamecube and Halo 2 on Xbox. New games may be added later, but these 2 titles will be present at every event.
This should be a heck of a show. I don’t know how well it will play to non-gamers, but Halo and SSBM players shouldn’t miss this.
Thats Half Life 2 running on an Intel Core Duo powered Apple iMac, with a little help Boot Camp. This has already got folks from both the Windows and OSX sides of the aisle howling at the death of mac gaming. Why care if a game makes to the apple tree if you can run it just as well on windows on the same computer?
…But not so fast! Blizzard, makers of the most popular online game of the past few years, is championing continued support for native OSX.
In the end, more macs in the market mean more games for mac. Its simple math. Emulation, even sanctioned emulation, can’t take the place of the real deal. Apple has the gamer crowd’s attention now, with even those Penny Arcade guys playing on Macs. I just hope they use it and throw some weight behind game development because houses porting Sims expansions won’t cut it. If they did half of what Microsoft is doing for games, Apple might switch more than just music lovers.

Justice League animation writer Dwayne McDuffie has penned the story for the brand new Justice League Heroes video game. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Zatanna, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern are confirmed playable, though the promise of unlockable characters might double that. Come on Hawk Girl!
Also check out a Teaser trailer from TeamXbox.
The screen shots make it look like a total knock-off of X-Men Legends, but considering how well those games did, thats not bad. Snowblind Studio is developing, and they’ve got a fairly good track record on action-RPGs. JLH is coming to the Xbox, PS2, and PSP this fall.
The title says it all. Namco/Bandai are producing a 3rd Person Shooter for the Xbox 360. GameBrink has screens, and a torrent link to a video can be found on Xboxyde.
Its exactly what you expect: a totally rad looking giant robot shooting game.
Universal Century of course. No Seed or Wing for us.
