Transformers Prime The Game coming in Fall 2012

Transformers Prime The Game - Optimus Prime

Great news! A Transformers Prime video game will be released this Fall. Not so great news… it’s only on the Wii, the DS and the 3DS. The Wii and 3DS versions are being developed by Now Production and the DS version is being developed by Altron Corporation … in 2004. Why isn’t this being released on any of the “good” game systems? I guess that’s what Fall of Cybertron is for.

The game will feature all the usual suspects. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee, Ratchet and Bulkhead are all playable characters. The humans Jack, Miko and Raf will also appear. Decepticons Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave are seen on the site. No doubt wave after wave of drones will also be encountered. No real indication of what the game will actually be like as of yet, aside from it being a “brawler”.

A teaser trailer can be found on the official web site. This trailer was also included in the Transformers Prime season 1 DVD and Blu-Ray sets.

Diablo 3 Release Date is May 15th

As can be seen on Blizzard’s Diablo website, the long awaited third installment of Blizzard’s gothic demon-hunting MMO finally was announced to have a release date two months from today. Pre-orders for the game can already be purchased, with the curious tag line of “be ready to play when the servers go live”. Whether this means anything other than being the first geek to delve into the ruins of Tristram and beyond is unknown, but at least after years of teasing and baiting, the fan community has a date to set on their calendars and a timeframe before productivity takes a massive dive.

The Simpsons Arcade Game – Keep Playing LIVE!

Don’t have a cow, man.

The Simpsons Arcade game finally invades Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network and we took advantage of the four player simultaneous play. Instead of the normal review of the game you’re used to seeing on Keep Playing, this is an entire play through. Also, you’ll hear running commentary from our (sometimes) podcast lineup of Adam, Ernie, and Zero along side myself. We’re going to dish on Simpsons trivia, point out some relevant gameplay facts, and make crass jokes.

Enjoy! This episode has a 40 minute run time, so I’ll save you the trouble and let you know the inevitable Terminator reference is at 7:58.

Absolutely MADDENing Mass Effect 3 Launch Problems

The launch of Mass Effect 3 is without a doubt one of the most disastrous I have ever witnessed. First, we learned of the import save problem if you decided to move your game to the new Cloud storage feature. The only solution is to track down the hard drive on which you originally finished the game; an impossibility for some. BioWare is offering no other solutions.

Second: just yesterday, we learned of the Shepard face import problem that also has no official solution… yet. This one BioWare is going to fix. In the mean time, there are a bevy of homebrew solutions, but all are overly-complicated.

Then there’s MY problem… This is what NewEgg sent me today:

Mass Effect 3 Custom Shepard Import Problems (and how to fix them)

Mass Effect 3 owners were shocked to find out today that most of their customized Commander Shepards could not have their faces imported into the new game.

One of the first things you’re able to do before you get going in a new Mass Effect game is to customize your Male or (preferably) Female Shepard’s face. If you’ve played Mass Effect 2 (or the just-released Mass Effect 3), you have the option to import this custom character and his/her saved data to continue your adventure as the Shepard from your previous game.

However, if you bought the game for your Xbox 360 or PC and started your character all the way back in the original Mass Effect, you might find that your face refuses to import, leaving you with a blank slate, or the option to use the default Shepard head for your ME3 playthrough.

How did this happen? And is there a solution? Find out after the jump.

(UPDATE: More temporary solutions found, plus BioWare is working to address the issue.)

‘Halo 4’ Video: Spartan IVs, Multiplayer, Master Chief, and the Battle Rifle

Microsoft has issued a video preview of Halo 4 showing off much more than we’ve seen before, but far far short of what you probably want to see.

The video starts with the closing cinematic from Halo 3, so spoilers beware if you managed to not complete that game since the last time Earth had a leap day.

The designers and producers at 343 Industries walk through some of the changes to the Spartan armor and do reveal that multiplayer features the next generation Spartan IV equipment. Master Chief himself was (or is?) a Spartan II, and much of the Noble team from Reach were Spartan IIIs. 343 were not kind enough to talk about armor abilities, but it does seem that dual wielding is gone for good.

Only a small fragment of campaign footage appears, and they’re not revealing the enemies just yet. We’ll probably have to wait until E3 in June for more answers.

$20 Game of the Week: Evilquest (Xbox Live Indie)

Evilquest is yet another Xbox Live Indie title that deserves its time in the spotlight. Built in the vein of classic 8 and 16-bit Action-RPGS like Chrystalis and SoulBlazer, Evilquest brings back that retro action that you love. Of course, there is a twist; instead of playing the hero intent on saving the world, you play as the villain who wishes to destroy it. You play as a legendary dark knight who is thrown into prison after being betrayed by a subordinate. After escaping, you vow revenge, killing everyone in your way. Evilquest is easy to pick up and play, and of course you can build your character’s skill levels as you go along. For $1, Evilquest is an excellent throwback to the games of old, so check it out and support independent game developers.
