Resident Evil 6 Trailer Confirmed Fake

Yesterday a video was making the rounds of the gaming community as a supposed teaser trailer for the much anticipated Resident Evil 6 game that many were hoping to have info revealed at this year’s Tokyo Game Show currently underway. Certainly the “trailer” looked like it was shot from a TSG attendee, and fooled even IGN with it’s charade.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Capcom USA has gone on record saying the trailer was indeed a fake, though divulged nothing else.

Does this mean that Capcom may be waiting for an official reveal at their TSG stage conference tomorrow? We’ll keep you posted.

Square-Enix and Gamestop Blunder over Deus Ex Coupon

Looks like Square-Enix and Gamestop have a hard time communicating with each other.

Square-Enix, the developer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, had originally offered a third-party coupon in the boxed PC edition of the game for the On Live cloud-computing gam streaminge service. However, they neglected to inform major game retailer Gamestop of the coupon’s inclusion, spurring Gamestop to remove the coupon for customer redemption completely.

From Gaintbomb’s original coverage:

GameStop dominated the conversation today, based on reports the retailer was opening copies of Deus Ex: Human Revolution on PC, removing the coupon for a copy of the game through OnLive, sealing the games back up and selling them as “new.”

Gamestop reported that they removed the coupon, as they have been developing their own streaming game service and they did not want to promote the competition. As of the backlash Gamestop received for the action of removing the coupon, Gamestop has since pulled all copies of Deus Ex for the PC and stored them for recall. Square-Enix has publicly apologized to Gamestop for the lack of prior knowledge of the coupons.

No coupons for you.

SDCC 2011: Voltron Force Exclusive Sizzle Reel

If you’ve followed my Twitter, you probably know I haven’t been quiet about how pleased I am with the new Voltron Force cartoon. While slow to begin the new series, and some parts were the new cadets seem forced upon the viewers, the show nonetheless has witty dialogue, good characterization, and definitely a lot of nods back to the original Voltron series, whilst also having a lot of surprises along the way.

So I was happy to come across a exclusive sizzle reel that was shown at the Voltron Comic-Con panel! I will warn those who haven’t watched the show yet, and even those who have, that some major storyline plot hints are dropped in this reel that could be considered rather Spoiler-ish.

You can check out Voltron Force every Thursday on Nicktoons, or can stream the most recent episodes on Nicktoons.com.

SDCC 2011: Last Airbender: Legend of Korra Trailer Released

SDCC 2011: New Info from the Walking Dead Game

If you’re s survival horror and zombie buff like I am, chances are you know about Image Comics’ “The Walking Dead” series. You might even be on of the newcomers that hopped on-board the undead train when TWD became a tv series on AMC. However, did you know if was getting a video game too?

This may be a good or bad thing, given the heavy use of the zombie genre these days, but The Walking Dead has alot of brand-name weight behind it, and Telltale Games (known for doing the recent Back to the Future game) is bringing it to the interactive stage. Though it still has no clear release date for the game other that Q4 2011, here is some info on it’s content courtesy of Rely on Horror.

You’ll be faced with choices to make regarding who to save and who to leave behind, ideally you would expect this to lead to some harsh consequences especially if the person you opted to leave behind ends up living and confronting you once again. This is exactly going to be the case in the game and this will prove to be quite an incentive for multiplay play-throughs, seeing as how every one will have you with different survivors.

SDCC 2011 – Speilberg’s Terra Nova Pilot Debut

The first half of the pilot for the new FOX series produced by Steven Speilberg debuted this morning at San Deigo Comic Con – Terra Nova – which is about time travel and dinosaurs and “Won’t have a T-Rex”, as viewers were assured. IGN reports;

There are definitely some really interesting scenes here and the concept itself – a futuristic world where pollution and overpopulation have doomed humanity, which then resorts to using a wormhole, and a lottery-system, to take people back 85 million years to try and create a new society – is fascinating.

If you have no idea what Terra Nova is and haven’t heard about it until now, check out the original trailer –

As soon as the pilot is uploaded, we’ll add it to this article. The two-hour pilot of Terra Nova premieres on 9/26 at 8pm on FOX.

From Kojima’s Twitter feed –
