Marvel continues its series of short form films to include on DVD/Blu-Ray releases of its movies. In the same vein as “The Consultant” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer”, “Item 47” deals with a minor story line related to the aftermath of the Avengers.

UPDATE – Looks like the video was taken down pretty quickly. Here’s a movie poster for the short film in it’s stead.

The Avengers comes to DVD and BluRay on September 25, but we’ve already started to see some features surface online. Here we have the gag reel showcasing some amusing mistakes and miscues from the actors during filming.

September 9th at midnight, Cartoon Network will be airing a Robot Chicken special featuring skits based on DC Comics characters and fiction. It looks like this will be similar to their Star Wars specials. A teaser was made public, which we have embedded above. Enjoy!

Mattel has hosted their annual Mattypalooza panel at SDCC 2012. We got a look at whats left for the year on MattyCollector.com, along with several sneak peaks of what is on the horizon for next year. Thomas Jane debuted a short fan film (NSFW) at SDCC 2012 called Dirty Laundry. Jane reprises his role as the Punisher in the short, which also features a guest appearance from Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy). Its pretty great to see actors who are genuine fans of the characters they portray. Jane played the part of Frank Castle in “The Punisher” released in 2004.

Quote from Jane:

I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish – we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it… Not pushing anything. Just a fan film from friends of Frank.
