Marvel’s Official Timeline Of Events Leading To ‘Avengers’ Movie

While it is accepted that all the Marvel ‘Avengers’ solo movies lead into the massive super hero team up film, there has been some inconsistency from fans as to which events came in what order. Obviously, Captain America’s World War II mission is before Tony Stark built his first Jericho missile, but when Did Thor fight The Destroyer and when did Hulk fight The Abomination? The answers may surprise you!

A book called The Art of Marvel’s The Avengers has the full time line spelled out in relation to the event of Tony Stark admitting he’s Iron Man. Goes back as fas as when Odin left the Cosmic Cube on Earth and leaders up to the very first scene in Avengers. Since many events overlap, there is never going to be a proper order to watch the films in, unless you want to sit at an edit bay and cut together a 10 hour movie of the 5 films before Avengers.

Possible ‘Halo 4’ Box Art, Definite New Enemies

As part of a promotional effort from Microsoft, several sites (including Powet.tv) were sent out part of a large ‘Halo 4’ image, split into 32 parts.

I got the email less than a half hour ago, but enough other fans and blogs got it that a forum goer from NeoGAF was able to stitch them all together.

What appears to the left may well be the box art for Halo 4. Behind the crouching Master Chief is the UNSC ship Forward Unto Dawn, broken in half from the event of Halo 3, is being sucked into the maw of the mysterious monster planet we saw in the E3 trailer last year. Also along for the ride are a few Covenant ships and who knows what else behind that fire and debris.

This next image transcends implications into an outright leak. This is the card back to one of the Halo 4 action figures. The first wave has Master Chief, an Elite Zealot, a Grunt Storm (whatever that means!) and a Red multiplayer Spartan.

Advertised as Wave two is another Spartan, Cortana, and two new characters: The ‘Crawler’ and the ‘Watcher’ with images of each. They’re kind of hard to see, since they’re toys and the images isn’t the best to begin with. Hopefully these new enemy classes mean we’re officially beyond The Flood as late game enemies. The Flood did not appear in ODST or Reach.

Halo 4 will launch on November 6 in North America, and is available for pre-order now. More news is expected soon, during E3.

Powetcast 119: Helicarrier Connection – ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Discussion

Spoilers ahoy! Do not listen beyond the 55 minute mark if you have not seen Avengers!

I’m joined again by Adam and Jim, with Sean and Captain Genius returning after several weeks away. We dig deep into the Avengers film series and hold a couple of inappropriate off topic discussions along the way. I also kept my promise to Jim to not make the podcast 2 hours long. 1:52:44 ain’t bad!

Call Of Duty: BLOPS 2 The Future!

Call of Duty gets a lot of crap for being the same game every single year. Not really so. There were only 4 World War II games, and 4 games that were not in World War II!

Since Treyarch was so successful with ‘Black Ops’ it seemed natural to continue that story in the “Modern Warfare’ off year. I am shocked and kinda impressed they took the daring move of putting the fight in the near future. The war is against the United States’ own unmaned drones and smart weapons which have been turned against us. Looks cool. I’m sure it will play the same as all the others, but it looks cool.

I hope we get to play as the craggy, hairy, wrinkled guy.

Final Trailer for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Tom Hardy as Bane from The Dark Knight Rises This weekend movie theaters everywhere will be running the trailer for the final act of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. The trailer is intended to play before screenings of The Avengers, so if you’re out for one of the biggest comic adaptations of the year, you’ll get a taste of the other.

But as you can see by this post, Warner Bros has graciously gone ahead and posted the trailer online for us to watch on our computer monitors and cell phones. I haven’t watched it yet, trying to save it for the theater. If I crack today and look at it, I’ll post in the comments all my thoughts and reactions.

‘G.I. JOE Retaliation’ Trailer 2

I don’t recall Roadblock ever leading the Joes except for a maybe a couple of missions, but with Dwayne Johnson in the roll, Marvin Hinton is running the show.

As we learned from the previous trailer, Zartan disguised as the US President has ordered the entire GIJOE team executed, with only Roadblock, Flint, and Lady Jaye surviving. All three are new characters to the movie series, and although we see Channing Tatum reprise his roll as Duke, we’re left to assume he’s dead.

You’ll spot a little more of Cobra Commander, some HISS Tanks rolling up to the US Capitol, and of course a bit more of Bruce Willis as Joe Colton. If the first Joe movie lacked star power, the sequel isn’t wanting for it.

Grimlock smashes in new ‘Fall of Cybertron’ images, video

For months now we’ve been teased with the inclusion of the famed Dinobots in the next Transformers game, Fall of Cybertron.

Now we really get to see Grimlock in action. We have 4 high resolution stills of Grimlock from the game. That’s not enough? OK, here is two and a half minutes of footage with narration from High Moon Studios Matt Tieger.

We see Grimlock performing very differently from other characters in the game. He is all close combat, using an energon shield and sword, swiping at Insecticons that threaten him 3 or 4 at a time. When he’s taken (or dished out) enough abuse, he hulks out and becomes a T Rex and has a move set that includes swping with his tail, stomping the ground and biting enemies in half. Keep an eye out for another Dinobot at the end of the video as well.

‘Halo 4’ Elects November 6, 2012 Release

Master Chief or Commander in Chief? If you’re in the US, thats what you’re facing on November 6, as Microsoft will be launching the first chapter in the next Halo trilogy, Halo 4. This day also happens to be Election Day, with national and local offices including the Presidency on the ballot in all states and territories.

Halo 4 is still pending a rating, but is expected to be rated “M” like others in the series. M rated games are available to those age 17 and up, while those 18 and up are eligible to vote. Just a friendly reminder to vote by absentee ballot if you’re planning to attend a midnight launch and spend all night playing.

Halo 4 is on the cover of the next issue of Game Informer (see image) and many details from the interior article are already online. Expect the Covenant to return in reduced numbers, a Forerunner planet, and a new faction that will challenge players beyond previous games.

Read on for the press release as well as two new “Red vs Blue” videos about the announcement.
