LEGO Predaking!

legopredaking.jpgOnce in a great while a cool thing goes up for auction you can’t ignore. Take this Custom LEGO Predaking on eBay for instance. Not only does it look great, it can even seperate into the component Predacons.
The talented builder also has a full gallery of his creation.
Thanks Ernie!

Mission Impossible by Kanye West

kanye.jpgThe college dropout stuns again!
About 2 months ago it was revealed that Kanye would be handling the theme for Mission Impossible 3, and now it looks like the leak is on.

Red Steel

redsteel.jpg The first revealed Nintendo Revolution title Red Steel has its official site up. Not that there is anything there. Even with a UbiSoft login in, clicking past the splash page just redirects you to their main site.
Some real news has trickled out though:

“Despite the influences and the apparent change in opinion towards more mature content by Nintendo, TVG has learnt that the game will not feature gratuitous violence and is unlikely to feature blood as a result.”

Thats from Totalvideogames via 4CR.
Should we even get worked up about no blood? I don’t think so. Anyone play Black? Fantastic gunplay, lots of explosions, guys dying every 3 or 4 seconds the entire legnth of the game, and not a DROP of blood. Most critics didn’t mention this because it was a lot less important than the game itself, which i hope Red Steel will be as well.

All the info from this month’s GameInformer after the jump

Sega back in hardware biz?

segahedgehog.jpgAnd just what the heck is that strange watercolor to the left? According to this french website. SEGA Prepare Un Console Portable Pour 2007, which means of course: Sega is working on a handheld for next year.
Codenamed “Hedgehog” the little device is rumoured to be able to play old Sega games with Genesis titles being the most probable, though the control looks eerily similar to the Dreamcast controller.
Real? Fake? Really Fake? E3 is the only time worth announcing such a device, so if we don’t see it next month, we’ll know its a dud.
Update: This is really fake. seeing as I first saw this on April 12, my “april fool!” radar was less than adequate.

Future of Mac games? Both sides…

Lets start with the fantastic:

Thats Half Life 2 running on an Intel Core Duo powered Apple iMac, with a little help Boot Camp. This has already got folks from both the Windows and OSX sides of the aisle howling at the death of mac gaming. Why care if a game makes to the apple tree if you can run it just as well on windows on the same computer?
…But not so fast! Blizzard, makers of the most popular online game of the past few years, is championing continued support for native OSX.
In the end, more macs in the market mean more games for mac. Its simple math. Emulation, even sanctioned emulation, can’t take the place of the real deal. Apple has the gamer crowd’s attention now, with even those Penny Arcade guys playing on Macs. I just hope they use it and throw some weight behind game development because houses porting Sims expansions won’t cut it. If they did half of what Microsoft is doing for games, Apple might switch more than just music lovers.

Street Fighter II Turbo coming to Xbox Live

sf2t.jpgAccording to the popular VGM Podcast, Street Fighter II Turbo should be online and ready for dragon-punches by the end of April. Capcom’s mid 90s masterworkd will be available for Xbox Live Arcade for the sum of 800 – 1200 points, (about 10-15 dollars).
This might sound like a lot for such an old game when you can get the Street Fighter collection released just last year for roughly the same amount and get SF3 packed in with it. Still, when you’re talking about such a classic in its best remembered form with all the new added features, it will be worth it.
