Famicom Dojo: Famicom 3D System

It’s the first week since the Nintendo 3DS release, and the Japanese and outside importers alike will soon enjoy the freedom of glasses-free, high quality 3D entertainment.

But did you know that Nintendo tried this almost 25 years ago, with another device (sort of) called the 3DS?

Pick up your own 3D System and a bunch of games over at Flashback Vintage Electronics, or get one of the sweet “Wordy” shirts at Level Up Studios.

But if that doesn’t satisfy you (or even if it does), you should also check out more cool games and videos in our show notes!

Top 5 Unique Features to Keep in Dragon Age 2

The next installment of BioWare’s epic fantasy RPG will be out in just one week. After the Dragon Age 2 demo went live last week, fans are already alternately welcoming and decrying BioWare’s moves to make this property more like its Sci Fi cousin Mass Effect.

After we saw the first impressions from Game Informer and preliminary reviews from GamesCom last year, I put together a list of five unique features of Dragon Age: Origins that I hoped would not get trampled in that process. We’ve only seen the demo so far, but we can already answer most of those questions.

So how does Dragon Age 2 fare compared to its Origins? Read on!

Famicom Dojo @ Anime Milwaukee 2011

The spring convention season is in full swing! I’m representing Powet.TV at Anime Milwaukee this year, which looks to be the biggest yet with a projected attendance of 4000 people — twice that of the 2010 iteration of this convention

There is a “Train Your Game” Famicom Dojo panel on Saturday from 3-4pm where I’ll be going over some 8-bit tips and tricks including why Pols Voice hate loud noises, and the science of the Minus World.

Until then, here’s a reminder to keep it clean!

KEEP PLAYING: Mass Effect 2 – Romance

Mass Effect 2 has three times the romance options of its predecessor, and some are very strange indeed. Powet.TV is here to take a look at each one.

We’re also trying something a little different this episode. Read on to find out more!

What are your Mass Effect 3 Predictions?

Pretend it’s Wednesday.

Got it? Great!

Now, pretend that everyone who wanted to play Mass Effect 2 on whatever major platform has now had a chance to do so since its release on PS3 “yesterday”. Never mind that the last 24 hours have hardly been enough time to get through a single playthrough, let alone multiple you may need to let the whole story seep into your pores. This author and videographer has (obviously) had significantly more time to digest everything that the first two Mass Effects have had to offer in order to bring you this predictions video!

Keep watching this space for our next KEEP PLAYING video about Mass Effect 2’s many, MANY romance options! And feel free to make your own predictions below.

MAGFest 2011: Another Day, Another Sweet Haul

This time I talk about DJ Cutman’s new album, a (free) disc of podcasts, and a Famicom game I’ve been trying to track down for a while!

MAGFest 2011: Day 1 Haul (and other stuff)

Check out my swag from Thursday, as well as some previews for what’s coming up on Day 2 and beyond!

MAGFest 2011: Art of the Arcade

True to its name, MAGFest showcases all kinds of gaming from consoles to pinball, to sweet arcade machines. This one in particular caught my eye — and that of many others. Check out how they customized this otherwise-blank cabinet. (I couldn’t even tell you what the game is, I just really liked the art!)

WARNING: The following images may contain copious amounts of uncensored wang. Alright, just two…
