Fellow poweteers Sindra and Raistlin joined me this past weekend at the Fall ’09 Boston Comic Con. This small convention has started getting attention and has been growing by leaps and bounds each show. Traditionally held at the Back Bay Events Center near Copley Square, the show runs twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
Diamond Select Toys has announced the 33rd wave in the Marvel Minimates line of figures. This wave is set to include the following:
Modern Thor & Modern (and female) Loki
Menace & Anti-Venom (both from New Ways to Die storyline)
Marvel Girl (Rachel Summers) & Sentinel
VARIANT: “Hound” Rachel Summers & Sentinel
Also in the announcement was this tidbit:
In addition to the standard removable and interchangeable pieces, the Sentinel army builder featured in this wave will also include a special “Sentinel Army” design feature – allowing you to partially customize your own Sentinel Squad in either modern or retro styles.
Take this news with a grain of salt since I haven’t seen it up anywhere else, but according to this article over at marketwatch.com, it looks like Disney is going to acquire Marvel Entertainment and all its characters including Spider-Man, The Hulk, The Avengers, and the X-Men. As a result it looks like Marvel’s stock price has shot up 25%, while Disney’s is actually down 1.5 %.
This week I’m looking at the new generation of movie games starting with the high quality Wolverine, the creative Ghostbusters, and the action packed Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.

Wolverine doesn’t make up for X-Men III, Dollhouse loses an episode, McFarlane Toys cuts jobs, Weird Al comes to BotCon, and a few of the Powet boys are going to be on TV! REAL TV.
This past week saw the legendary mutant superhero Wolverine return to movie theaters by way of the film X-men origins: Wolverine. Of course, the logical tie-in game hit store shelves as well. Word on the street is that this new game isn’t half bad. That’s a good thing too, as Wolverine’s solo history in video gaming has been less than encouraging.
