When you hear “John Carter of Mars” do you think of Noah Wyle’s character from ER getting his ass to Mars? Me neither, but here’s a picture that will make sure you will…

Until a few days ago I had not heard of this character, but after Captain Genius brought this to my attention at our forums, this sounds like a great premise for this upcoming movie. Here’s the trailer for Disney’s John Carter which is due to be released in March of next year:

The film is written and directed by Andrew Stanton who wrote and directed many Pixar movies, including Wall-E, so it looks like it’s in good hands.

John Carter fiction dates back to 1911 with A Princess of Mars which has John Carter, an immortal man, traveling to Mars to have great adventures. Here’s hoping someone, anyone, says “2 weeks” in this movie…

Isaiah Mustafa, the man who took the nation by storm in a series of very clever Old Spice commercials, has been very vocal about wanting Marvel comics to consider him as Luke Cage in a future movie.

Now taking matters into his own hands, Mustafa appears to have financed the production of a trailer for this non-existant film. Marvel has over the last several years put Luke Cage as a lower priority as it established its Avengers series, but has stated that smaller films about Dr Strange and other less mainstream characters are possible next. Luke Cage would fit in that perfectly, and would be an excellent addition to a future Avengers movie for a cameo.

Theres no doubt that if internet buzz takes over, Marvel will at least consider Mustafa for the role. So does this trailer convince you as it should convince Marvel?

Gears 3’s multiplayer beta show the immense promise of the third act of the Xbox shooter series.

But the campaign is going to deliver hard. Marcus’ father is alive and the 3 sides are colliding in a major way. See the humans, the Lambent, and the Locusts tear everything up.

The original Gears Of War made a big splash with a trailer that featured Gary Jules’ subdued cover of “Mad World” and similarly the song “How It Ends” by Devothcka in the Gears 2 spot was more somber than exciting.

Gears Of War 3 pulls no punches. Its “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath and it kicks as much ass as the footage it scores.

Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller’s follow up to the awesome Forgetting Sarah Marshall looks like a very run of the mill RomCom until Kermit The Frog shows up.

Muppet movies and TV shows of the past had no trouble breaking the fourth wall, and this looks like no exception. Segel and Stoller might just be what the Muppets need to be relevant to modern times.

Conan has been at home for months at his show on TBS, its almost easy to forget that he was a star at NBC for 22 years and was ejected from his seat as part of a talk show dynasty. Conan took to the road with his writers and band and performed sold out live shows for the fans that craved more during the months he was off air. A camera crew followed, and now its a movie called Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop.

Fittingly, the movie will only play in a few cities before appearing on cable video on demand services next month.

Micheal Bay has posted a revision of the latest Transformers trailer. It will run with 3D movies in theaters as it has finished 3D effects.

The new edit has several new shots, including an extension of that building falling over in Chicago. Enjoy.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon fires its latest salvo at the fanbase and mainstream audiences that lost faith in the series with Revenge Of the Fallen. Director Michael Bay will employ Shockwave to destroy Earth if he has to, but he will win those fans back.
