Disney acquires Marvel, and a photoshopper’s wet dream ensues. Thomas “John Conner” Dekker tells a n00b to STFU. On YouTube. Shirtless. We chat about the dethroning of Kings, aDam almost spoils “K”, and Powet picks up the torch for Reading Rainbow!
Take this news with a grain of salt since I haven’t seen it up anywhere else, but according to this article over at marketwatch.com, it looks like Disney is going to acquire Marvel Entertainment and all its characters including Spider-Man, The Hulk, The Avengers, and the X-Men. As a result it looks like Marvel’s stock price has shot up 25%, while Disney’s is actually down 1.5 %.
Even though Google’s title graphic by Jim Lee features DC characters, Marvel rules San Diego Comic Con. Michael Bay, a man so closely associated with explosions that the image with this post was the only to come to mind, has decided to leave action movies and his hit Transformers franchise behind.
Reported on IMDB he says “After the three and a half years I’ve spent making these movies, I feel like I’ve had enough of the Transformers world. I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions.”
The second chapter in the live action Transformers saga, Revenge of The Fallen, releases next week, and Paramount Pictures has already announced intentions for a third film in July 2011. Michael Bay already said no to 2011, adding he wanted to take a year off and he’s come back 2012. Sounds like 2011 may be the date with a new director.
Yes its fake. This fan project is beyond what most with some editing software are capable of. Doesn’t give much of a story indication outside of Nathan Fillion taking on the role of Hal Jordan and Hugo Weaving as Sinestro, and if you’re a geek that should be fine by you.
A real Green Lantern movie is being planned now for release summer 2011.
On this date in 1984, the very first issue of Transformers from Marvel Comics hit newstands. Toys would not arrive until summer, and the first episode of the animated series wouldn’t premeire until September.
So where were you on May 8, 1984? When did you first experience Transformers? Who your favorite Transformer? Respond in the comment section!
