The centerpiece of Hasbro’s Titans Return display at this year’s Toy Fair was the newly revealed Titans Return Trypticon.
Trypticon won a fan poll last year for the next titan class Transformers figure against the likes of Scopronok and Omega Supreme. This was the first time the full prototype has been on display and lots of news surrounding it has come out.
- Full Tilt, the smaller Transformer that came with the original Trypticon, is included.
- Full Tilt has a Titan Master. The Titan Master’s name is Necro.
- Necro appears to be based on Wipe Out, an obscure character that appeared with Trypticon at one point.
- No Electronics (the choice was to include Full Tilt instead of electronics).
- Base mode can connect to the other bases in the line.
- Opening the mouth reveals a ‘throat’ which will funnel a Titan Master down to Trypticon’s chest compartment.
Unicron.com got a great video interview with Hasbro designer, John Warden.

The biggest news out of Toy Fair for many was the official unveiling of Combiner Wars Devastator from Hasbro’s Transformers brand. 6 Voyager sized Constructicons will combine to form one giant sized Devastator. Each of the six figures rivals the original combined Devastator’s 9 inches of height, while the new combined form stands around 18 inches tall.
TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS COMBINER WARS CONSTRUCTICON DEVASTATOR
(Ages 8 & up/Approx. Retail Price: $149.99/Available: Fall 2015)
TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS COMBINER WARS figures form some of the largest TRANSFORMERS robots ever seen, and this one tops them all. This mega-pack unites all six of the CONSTRUCTICONS in one place. Each figure is rendered in incredible detail and features impressive conversion from robot to construction vehicle and back. But that’s just the beginning — the six Voyager Scale figures combine to form the ultimate DECEPTICON weapon: the mighty CONSTRUCTICON DEVASTATOR, the largest TRANSFORMERS COMBINER robot figure!

Due to a scheduling error, we are running a little behind in our week of Botcon reveals, so here is another! Obsidian!
Obsidian, like Strika, is another character from Beast Machines ported back to Machine Wars in his former Autobot glory. Obsidian uses the Hunt for the Decepticons Highbrow mold with a newly tooled head. He looks pretty great in robot mode, especially with those rotors on his arms like his Beast Machines design. The alternate mode is a bit more of a departure considering Obsidian was a helicopter in Beast Machines.
Here is a side by side by of the toys for Strika and Obsidian from Beast Machines.

Due to all the craziness of Toy Fair and the news streaming out of it, we fell a little behind posting the Botcon reveals for this year’s convention box set. Kicking off with Saturday’s Top 5 Machine Wars themed article, we are having ourselves a bit of a Botcon 2013 themed week. We’ll continue posting the reveals as the week goes on until we get caught up. Today, we take a look at Botcon 2013 Skywarp.
Skywarp was a pretty plainly deco’d basic figure in the original Machine Wars line. He was mostly white with little other than the faction symbol to break up the color. The new Botcon figure uses the Revenge of the Fallen Dirge mold with a retooled head.

I’m breaking up the Transformers news by line because there was just so much information dispersed. The Generations line continues in 2013 kicking off the celebration of the franchise’s 30th birthday in 2014. 30th Anniversary logos will be appearing on packaging with pack-in comics included. IDW and Hasbro has been working together closer to try and get the toys and the comic art to match more closely. If these new reveals are any indication, they are being widly successful.
Join us after the jump for pictures and details of what is coming our way!
