Patton Oswalt writes jokes, comics

pattonoswalt.jpgComicon.com has interviewed comedian Patton Oswalt about his upcoming comic projects.
Of note is an issue of Justice League Unlimted starring Atomic Knight and Booster Gold. Now he’s written comics before, and he’s a serious fan of comics, but I can’t help suspecting that he’s going to deliver something hilarious pairing a member of the league from the past with someone from the future.

Transformers Classics Update: Prices, Releases, Bumblebee, and Boxes.

Transformers-Official-Image.jpgTarget computers have updates with price points and release dates for Transformers Classics.
Deluxe figures will come at $12.99 instead of $9.99, while Voyagers (Optimus Prime & Megatron) are still $19.99. They’re scheduled to hit stores the last week of July, so expect them to be everywhere by the end of August.

I don’t condone any 3 dollar price hike, but I think its fair considering how quality the line looks. Thanks Mouth!
And since Bumblebee was glossed over during the original announcements, have a look at him and others in box:

Marvel Comics movie update

Marvel_logo.jpgiF Magazine spoke with recently resigned Marvel Entertainment head Avi Arad about upcoming film projects he’s working on for Marvel. In additon to breaking news that the next Hulk movie will be a complete “do-over” of the first one, he also says new cartoons for Spider-Man, Wolverine And The X-Men, Fantastic Four, and even Iron Man after that movie is done.
And he clarifies some of this ToyBiz confusion as well:

iF: Switching to toys how do the new HASBRO toy lines look in comparison to the previous TOY BIZ lines?
ARAD: TOY BIZ is very involved in the design of the toys, but the distribution will be through HASBRO. The scale isn’t going to change.

Maybe Marvel Legends isn’t in as much danger as I thought, because Hasbro seems to have no trouble getting mountains of Star Wars, GI Joe and Transformers to market…

Japanese openings to US cartoons

batmanjapan.jpgJapanese TV gets about as much US animation as we get Japanese animatiton. And just like on our shores they have to translate it, and sometimes cut new opening sequences.

And just like our imports, I think its safe to say Japanese fans probably complain about bad translations and oddball changes as much as those in the west do. Enjoy.
