This past Thursday, Nintendo held it’s first Nintendo direct since the passing of former president Satoru Iwata. Though his absence was felt, there are a lot of new and exciting developments that came from the big N. WWE Hall of Famer Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator will be this year’s preorder bonus for WWE2k16, enabling everyone to finally fulfill their dream of putting Randy Orton against a killer robot from the future. He’ll be joining Alexia Bliss, Page, Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor, and Daniel Bryan as one of 120+ unique characters who will be in this year’s game. One superstar who won’t be a part of this year’s game is Terry Bolla, a.k.a Hulk Hogan due to the events of this past weekend. Stone Cold Steve Austin is this year’s cover athlete, and there are rumors that the game’s main mode will center around him and the attitude error. This will most likely mean that the game’s Showcase mode, introduced in WWE 2k15, will probably have a section centered around him. Of course this is all speculation, as more info on this year’s game, including it’s roster, will be revealed later on this year, usually around Summerslam. The game itself is scheduled to hit stores on October 27 of this year.

Sure sign of trouble: The intro features a generic martial arts guy who isn’t in the game. It’s not too late to turn back now.

I think I may have very well found the worst fighting game ever. This isn’t an exaggeration folks. Unlike other shitty fighting games such as Karate Champ (which gets a pass as it was among the first of its kind and for that awesome bullfighting bonus stage), Survival Arts (with it’s goofy character designs), Time Splitters (with its creative use of gore), and Rise of the Robots (that at least had nice graphics), there was no redeeming value for Best of Best. No, I take it back. There is some unintentional comedy in some of the poses, backgrounds, and animations. By the way, Best of Best should not be confused with Best of the Best: Championship Karate, Electro Brain’s 1992 fighting game nor should it be confused with the movie of the same name that the previously mentioned Karate Game ISN’T based upon.

Captain America. Iron Man. Thor. Black Widow. Hawkeye. Hulk. Scarlet Witch! Quicksilver! Hulkbuster Iron Man! Ballerinas!? Ultron.

Did that last line of Ultron’s sound familiar? Let us not forget that Marvel is now owned by Disney.

Well, everyone’s favorite gun-toting raccoon and living tree are among Marvel’s newest (and most obscure) movie stars as of this weekend in Guardians of the Galaxy, and earlier this summer, everyone’s favorite mutants returned to the silver screen in X-men Days of Future Past, and what good would any movie be without the prerequisite tie-in games? Of course unlike recent movie tie in games, such as the Gameloft-Cashgrab mobile games based on Captain America 2 and Spider-Man 2, these games have no in-app purchases (it’s a rather biting commentary on mobile gaming when we’re praising games for NOT having any IAP, but I digress). The games themselves aren’t bad either.

Each day at SDCC thus far, Marvel has had two new free posters to give out. Each poster features one of the Avengers fighting off Ultron drones. Each of these posters also fit together to form one large mural. That large mural is now complete with the release of the final two posters featuring The Hulk and Thor yesterday. This beautiful piece of art is brought to us by Charlie Wen.

In this art, not only do we see Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, The Hulk, Thor, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, but we also get a tiny glimpse of The Vision in the upper left hand corner of the image.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be coming to theaters on May 1st, 2015.

Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum wasn’t just the first good Batman game since the 16-bit days (well, the first good Batman game that didn’t involve Lego at least), it did for the caped crusader what games like Spider-Man 2, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and The Punisher did for their respective heroes: It put players into the role of a comic book superhero like never before. You weren’t just moving him around the screen and punching out opponents, you could make Batman do all the cool stuff that you saw in the comics and movies. You could sneak up behind enemies and take them out one by one, hang from above and dive in on a hapless foe, and effortlessly take out groups of armed thugs with little or no effort. You could even tap into his detective skills to find hidden objects and secrets. The game’s sequel, Arkham City (hinted at in a secret hidden room in Arkham Asylum) gives players an entire open world to experience.

As part of YouTube’s Geek Week, the second Thor 2 trailer was just released.
With this trailer we confirm that this movie takes place after the events in New York that took place in the Avengers movie. We also see a bit more action, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and, naturally, Loki.

The large stone warrior that we see facing Thor appears to be very similar to a Kronan stone warrior. Another Kronan warrior named Korg would become a major character as one of the gladiators in the Planet Hulk storyline.

Thor: The Dark World will be in theaters this November.
