NYCC Marvel Animated: New Spider-Man Series to Debut in 2017 and Other Animated Goodies

newspiderman

At New York Comic Con this past weekend, Marvel Entertainment announced that Ultimate Spider-Man will be ending its run in early January at the end of its fourth season. It’s replacement series New Spider-Man will debut later in 2017. Produced by Robot Chicken’s Kevin Shinick and supervising director Philip Pignotti, New Spider-Man will feature a Spider-Man who has just started out as a superhero. Along with New Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy will get a second season, which features a storyline teaming them with the avengers. Avengers Assemble will also return for an all new season, and will feature cameos by Black Panther, Ms Marvel, and Agent Carter, who will be voiced by Haley Atwell.

Power Rangers Mega Battle

Fans of the old school Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series will want to take a look at this. Developed by Bamtang and published by Namco Bandai, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle is a multiplayer action brawler for up to 4 players. The game will feature cutscenes, monsters, and dialogue based on the original series, and will also feature unlockable characters. The game will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 next year. If the gameplay can keep in line with the graphics, MMPR:MB will be an excellent flashback to our childhood.

Wolverine 3 Has New Name, Could be R-Rated

logan-wolverine-3-movie-poster-teaser

Very little has been revealed about the third solo Wolverine movie, save that it will be Hugh Jackman’s last time portraying the character, Patrick Stewart will be in it as Charles Xavier (in what could be his last time playing as the character), and its protagonist could be Mr. Sinister. Howsoever, it seems like we finally have a release date, along with a name change. Also, a page from the script was posted online by director James Mangold hints at what direction the film will take.

Of course there isn’t much in it, but we now know how much longer we’ll have to wait to see Danny Rand in the small screen.

Rumor: Battleborn to go Free to Play soon

Battleborn is a multiplayer shooter developed by Gearbox (Borderlands, Duke Nukem Forever) and released by 2K games this past way. It received rave reviews thanks to its quirky cast of characters, varied hero mechanics, and kick ass 80s-cartoon style intro as seen above. Unfortunately Blizzard’s Overwatch hit later that month, and now Battleborn is known as that “Other new multiplayer shooter”. Even so, Gearbox has been releasing new content for the game, such as new maps, heroes, and single player missions. However, an anonymous source reported to Kotaku that Gearbox is considering making Battleborn free to play. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchfork denied these claims, instead saying that the company plans to release a ‘trial version’ which will allow players to purchase the full game and DLC (which kinda sounds like f2p to me). If it did, it wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. This past summer, 2k’s Evolve went f2p and saw its Steam user base increase by the thousands. Battleborn is a great shooter which would use a similar shot in the arm, even if it isn’t free to play.

$20 Game of the Week: Soul Sacrifice Delta (Playstation Vita)

Soul-Sacrifice-Delta

What would you be willing to give up if you could gain ultimate power? Who would you be willing to give up if you could gain ultimate power? Those are the questions players are asked in Soul Sacrifice Delta, the PS Vita exclusive action RPG. Developed by Keji Inafune’s Comcept (Recore, Mighty Number 9), Soul Sacrifice Delta is the ultimate upgrade of the original SOul Sacrifice, adding on hours of new content including new bosses, areas, and characters. It even includes more storyline details that flesh out things that were hinted at in the original Soul Sacrifice. Regardless of whether or not you own the original game, you’ll definently want to add this title to your collection if you own a Vita.
