Classic PC Gaming seems to be alive and well. We’ve seen several re-releases courtesy of GOG.com and other outlets, the indie scene is alive and well, and several classic games will be getting some new content. Earlier this year the 1996 shooter Postal was given an updated re-release that features Xbox 360 controller support and remastered graphics. Two other classic titles are also receiving re-releases. Check below for details.

As seen above, 1996’s classic Duke Nukem 3D will see a PC and console re-release courtesy of Gearbox (Borderlands, Battleborn). Gearbox has reunited with several of the original developers and staff including level designers Allen Blum III and Richard “Levelord” Gray, sound designer Lee Jackson, and the voice of Duke Nukem himself, Jon St Jon. The upcoming 20th Anniversary World Tour mode will contain developer commentary, an all new episode, and the option to with play with the original graphics, or what Gearbox is calling “True3D Rendering” mode. Duke Nukem Anniversary will be released October 11 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

Titan-Quest-Anniversary-Edition

When THQ went belly up a few years ago, Nordic gained control over most of its assets and franchises. One of which was the Action RPG Titan Quest. Titan Quest was a great title that could be described as Diablo in ancient Greece. Nordic Games re-branded itself THQ Nordic and recently put out a remaster of Titan Quest. Combining both teh base game and the Immortal Throne expansion, the game features a number of enhancements, bug fixes, and features. It’s currently on sale for $4.99 on Steam, so if you haven’t experienced this classic, now is a great time to do so. Steam owners who have already purchased the original version of Titan Quest, will get the anniversary edition for free.
