Voodoo Vince is Getting a Remaster

Okay, this is getting out of hand.

2003’s Voodoo Vince was an above average 2003 Xbox platformer that was fairly well received. Unfortunantely it was lost to time when it failed to become one of the games backwardly compatible on Xbox 360. However, Clayton Kauzlaric’s Beep games is bringing a remaster to Xbox One/Windows 10 in early 2017. This is getting out of hand. Then again is Turok can be remastered, then why not? Maybe next we’ll see an HD remaster of Blinx The Time Sweeper.

$20 Game of the Week: Ubermosh Vol. 3 (PC)

ubermosh

Some games push the envelope in graphics, gameplay, and storytelling, redefining genres and creating new experiences. Ubermosh Vol. 3 is not one of those games. It’s simply a fun arcade-style game that’s addictive and is good for killing a little bit of time. As a female cyber-demon-samurai-type thingy, you last as long as possible against unending waves of enemies. You can use your sword to cut bullets and pick up various guns that help blow them apart. Vol. 3 is actually the third revision of this game, and currently it is the most refined. The game is available for only $2 on Steam, and it goes on sale all the time. If you’re a fan of old school arcade-style action, check it out.

Happy 15th Birthday Xbox !

15 years ago to this day, November 15th, Microsoft released it’s entry into console gaming, the Xbox. Along with the classic system came a little title called Halo. The Xbox was the first of a line of successful consoles, and Halo was the start of a successful first person shooter franchise. Many more awesome games would hit the console, such as Ninja Gaiden, Crimson Skies, and Dead or Alive. I could tell ya more, but Zac did an excellent job of summing up the Xbox in his Alphabet article. Microsoft is commemorating today with free Halo 5 and Forza Horizon 3 DLC. If you wanna learn more about the original Halo, check out this Lost Classic. Here is to 15 great years of Microsoft gaming.

$20 Game of the Week: The Westport Independent (PC, Linux, mac, iOS, Android)

The-Westport-Independent

Much has been made about the media and the role it plays in daily life. Also, much has been made about censorship and its role in the media. With this past week’s election, many people have different opinions on the media and its role in politics. Double zero double zero’s indie title The Westport Independent takes aim at the press and censorship. Like 2013’s Papers Please, it’s a low resolution title that is easy to play, but makes its players think about a major hot button topic.

Young Justice Season 3 Announced!

yjs3

Young Justice fans, it seems your prayers have been answered. Earlier this week, Warner Brothers animation has announced that production for Season 3 is underway. Although the date and network have yet to be confirmed, Young Justice producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman are both returning to the series.

Young Justice, which ran 2 seasons from 2011 – 2013 chronicled the adventures of DC’s sidekicks such as Robin, Superboy, Artemis, and Aqualad as they battled covert threats. Despite the shows fanbase, it was cancelled prematurely due to poor merchandise sales. Since then, fans have been vocal about wanting to see the series return, and with the series being shown on Netflix, more and more DC fans can see what the fuss is about.

With Young Justice returning, this could open the door for more fan-favorite shows to make a return, such as Firefly, Constantine, and Agent Carter.

Deep Silver….er….THQ Nordic Acquires Novalogic’s Back Catalog.

novalogic

Before Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, Battlefield, and your other favorite military shooter, there was Delta Force. Few games before it and few games since have had the depth of gameplay and realism that Delta Force had. Yesterday, the company formerly known as Deep Silver has acquired the Novalogic catalog. This means that Deep Silver, now known as THQ Nordic, has the rights to not only the Delta Force series, but Commanche, Armored Fist, Joint Operations, and even the 2000 space-flight simulator, Tachyon: The Fringe. The last release from the company was 2009’s Delta Force Xtreme 2 (Pictured). Deep Silver has been making some big moves after acquiring most of THQ’s properties in 2013 including Saint’s Row, Darksiders, and Red Faction. They renamed themselves THQ Nordic this past august. With the acquisition of Novalogic, hopefully this means we’ll see some new Delta Force games.
