This is Sony’s answer to Ninja Gaiden. A hyperactive button masher with simple puzzles and upgradable weapons and abilities that’s hyper violent and relentless in it’s presentation. You play as Kratos, a really pissed off guy with two blades grafted to his arm. Your mission is to kill Aries, the god of war. Throughout the game you encounter many souped up versions of mythological greek figures such as the minotaur, hydra, and Medusa. Also of note are several action sequences which require you to keep your finger on the control pad not unlike Resident Evil 4. Following the sequence properly can lead to a really big payoff. For action fans with a PS2, this is a must buy for the system, especally since a sequel is coming early next year.

Nevermore, a man who collects rumors in larger numbers than toys, has posted a massive update from a dozen sources about producer Don Murphy’s panel at TransformersCon in Toronto. He spoke of General Motors being involved, a battle between Scorponok and the US military in the desert, and confirmation on the use of both the classic transforming sound and the some form of the original theme.
Last week, we got first word on casting from IGN. In addition to Shia “LaBeouf”; Jon Voight, Bernie Mac, and John Tuturro are supposedly cast or close to being cast. Michael Clarke Duncan is also mentioned as US Army Warrant Officer Figueroa, a definite nod to the fan-favorite Transformers comic artist.
Last but not least, Quint from Aint-it-Cool spent some time with Michael Bay talking Transformers, and they speak of some concept art, a few plot points, and further enforce that the US Military is heavily involved and we can count on real tanks and planes being used.

Instead of wondering why Nintendo has outsourced the last 2 titles or questioning the departure from the space-faring roots, They just want to know why his nose changed colors from black to brown.

There is already a mountain of variations to the classic board game Monopoly, but there’s always room for one more. Kotaku posted this image of a forthcoming Nintendo version.
After some diligent investigation (aka google) I was unable to come up with any further information about the game. We’ll all keep our eyes peeled, because it would be nice to have a Mario Party where someone doesn’t curse over not knowing how to play all the minigames.

I understand completely now why Roger Ebert doesn’t think video games are art. He paid to see Silent Hill. He also sat through Doom, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Mortal Kombat, and who knows how many other insanely bad movies.
I was not expecting much. In fact I saw it after being warned. What did surprise me is that it was worse than Van Helsing, which enjoyed nearly 2 years on my list as the worst modern movie. I wanted to clean up my language when I started this new site and every fiber of my being yearns to use words that I promised I would not use online anymore. #&@*!
Oh, it was so bad! And nothing made sense. I feel guilty even talking about it, and I saw it on Tuesday.
I won’t waste your time with further allegations of the movie’s terrible nature. I just have to write something here so I feel I got my money’s worth. I can at least say I saw it to review on the site.

Schwiggie of our very own boards, has brought it to our attention that BigBadToyStore has posted a pre-order page for Revoltech Optimus Prime.

For those not on cutting edge of toy news, Revoltech is supposed to feature a new ratcheted joint that is actually a combination of 3 different smaller joints that give greater poseability and are more easily hidden. The line kicks off with Neon Genesis Evangelion’s EVA Unit 01 in the coming months.

Since this is going to be much longer than the regular episodes of powet.tv, I made a teaser. Final Film will be released by May 1st.
