Botcon 2012 Exclusive Shattered Glass Treadshot revealed

The folks from Botcon have revealed the next figure in their exclusive set for this year’s convention in Dallas. The figure is Shattered Glass Treadshot. He uses the Reveal the Shield Jazz mold with colors that appear to be from Armada Sideswipe and a stripe that resembles the one from Universe Treadshot. Confused? I am. I’m happy to see the mold get used, just surprised to see it used in this way. As a point of reference, the G1 Treadshot was a Decepticon Action Master.

Botcon 2012 Exclusive Shattered Glass Soundwave revealed

Similar, to Shattered Glass Tracks, no real surprises here. We’ve seen Shattered Glass Soundwave on numerous occasions before and he’s always portrayed with this mold. He will not come with his yellow bandana, but it will be available for purchase separately from the club. Logistically speaking regarding the toy’s production, that makes a lot of sense. Speaking from a fan’s perspective, I can guarantee that move will cause a lot of frustration. In a stranger turn of events, the Cold Slither logo appears on Soundwave’s alt mode. Cold Slither is a GI Joe reference. In the old GI Joe show, the Drednoks masqueraded as a rock band called Cold Slither.

Bob Anderson, Darth Vader’s swordsman, dies at 89

Mark Hamill and Bob Anderson on the set of The Empire Strikes Back

Bob Anderson, the man who played Darth Vader in his lightsaber duels in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, passed away yesterday. Though voiced by James Earl Jones and played by David Prowse for most of the original trilogy, Bob Anderson is the man in the suit whenever Darth Vader was engaged in those iconic lightsaber battles.

Sword Master Bob Anderson

Beyond Star Wars, Bob Anderson worked on many films doing either stunts or working as a fencing coach. His credits include Highlander, The Princess Bride, The Mask of Zorro, The Lord of the Rings films and The Pirates of the Caribbean. He has also represented Great Britain in fencing at the Olympic Games.

$20 Game of the Week: Ghost Recon – Shadow Wars (Nintendo 3DS)

Go figure – the first $20GOTW of the New Year (even if I am a bit late) just so happens to be the first 3DS game (that’s not available as a download), and it’s the first Nintendo 3DS launch title that’s not a port or remake, and is actually worth buying, and it’s the first Ghost Recon on a portable system (rather than cell phone platforms such as NGage). Without further ado, lets get into it.
