First Look at Tom Hardy as Bane From “The Dark Knight Rises”

Tom Hardy as Bane

Yesterday Warner Bros. announced that The Dark Knight Rises had started filming, as well as launching the film’s official website. Along with this launch includes a social campaign that revealed the first photo of Tom Hardy as Bane.

At launch the official website was just a black image with some odd chanting playing. A deditcated fan looked at the visual spectrum of the chanting and noticed it contained a twitter hashtag of #thefirerises. As fans tweeted using that hashtag, on the official site an image started to be filled in using the twitter icon of people using the hashtag. The image is still being filled in, but /Film has posted the details of this social campaign and the high res photo of the finished picture.

Person Of Interest has JJ, Nolan, Ben Linus, and Jesus.

You heard me. Jonathan Nolan (screen writer for The Dark Knight) writes and JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias, Star Trek) produces. Michael Emerson (Emmy Award winner for Ben Linus on Lost) and Jim Caviezel (The Passion Of The Christ) star.

Emerson plays a wealthy surveillance expert who pulls Caviezel out of his homeless beard to use him as a blunt force in a mysterious crime fighting operation.

This show better not suck.

$20 Game of the Week: The Legend of Zelda – The Twilight Princess (GC, Wii)

What better way is there to launch a new Nintendo console than with a flagship series? If Mario isn’t available, then there is always Zelda. The Twilight Princess is the Zelda title fans have waited for ever since before the Windwaker on the Gamecube (remember that footage of Link battling a skeleton knight?), and it was also a good preview of what we could expect on the Wii. As Link, you set out to save the kingdom of Hyrule from a creeping darkness that is slowly taking over it. At times you travel to the world within this darkness, where you take the form of a wolf as you seek out a way to burn it away. After getting rid of the darkness, you can then explore the light version of the world. The game does a good job of utilizing the new motion controls without making anything feel forced. You shake the Wiimote to swing your sword, and you can even aim it to fire your bow. You can also use it in a fishing minigame. Although the animations are a bit canned (remember, this was intended to be a Gamecube game), the controls are intuitive and fun. This is classic Zelda action at its best. You explore dungeons and gain new items that help you make your way through them, and you encounter bosses which force you to think your strategy through. Keeping in Nintendo tradition, Link doesn’t talk, although the story is still moving as there are plenty of water cooler moments and twists to keep you progressing through the game to see what’s next. With a new Zelda game on the way, now is the perfect time to check out this modern-day classic.

Transformers Dark Of The Moon Clip – “My Secret Weapon”

SPOILERS! There are no robots in this clip.
However, we do see Patrick Dempsy’s character and Carly gets to speak, two things the other trailers didn’t show us.
Fun fact: this scene was shot at the Milwaukee Art Museum, a location I’ve been to several times. In the movie it stands in for the office of Sam and Carly’s boss Dylan Gould. The cars and other set dressing are not part of the sparse architecture of the hall.

KEEP PLAYING: Rewind – Bart’s Nightmare

Transformers Dark Of The Moon Wave 1 Toy Impressions Video

Like many Transformers fans, I headed to the stores on May 16 to see the release of the first wave of figures for the third live action movie. I intended to only buy 1, maybe 2… but once I was in store, it was hard not to grab 3. This video is a quick look at Powerglide, Deluxe Starscream, and Voyager Megatron.

Something I didn’t mention in the video: Megatron and the other voyagers are quite small. The price point is lower than its been in previous years (around $19), but these figures are exactly in the scale of the “Mega” size class used popularized in the Beast Wars era. That size was abandoned as of Armada. Megatron appears to be about the same size as Transmetal Megatron from Beast Wars.

[Spoiler] Rory will not die in a future episode of Doctor Who!

The many deaths of Rory in Doctor Who

We’ve got a big future Doctor Who spoiler for you! In an episode later this year Rory will actually not die for a change! Rory is expected to survive an entire episode, with no characters seeing him die or assuming he’s dead at any time. Amy will likely not mourn his death by crying!

Amy Pond Mourns Rory's Many Deaths in Doctor Who

This is very unexpected for fans of Doctor Who that have come to know Rory as something similar to Kenny from an episode of South Park or Nathan from a season finale of Heroes where each of these characters is known to die at the drop of a hat. To date Rory has died 3 times last season and 3 times this season, which has only been on for 4 episodes! What future episode will have Rory not die? Only time will tell! My personal prediction is that he will not die in an episode because he will already be dead, to be revived in a future episode…
