WonderCon 2011: MOTU Classics Leech, Hurricane Hordak and Catra packaging revealed

Wondercon 2011, taking place this weekend, April 1st through 3rd, is one stop on MattyCollector’s Collector Appreciation Tour. To honor the event Mattel had several new items on display we have never seen. First up, a poortly mocked up version of what will become the back of Catra’s packaging.

The big news, though, was Hurricane Hordak and Leech. Leech will be a new monthly Club Eternia release, while Hordak will be the major variant for the 3rd quarter.

Images of Leech and Hurrican Hordak are from He-Man.Org member, SCB. The other images are from Matty’s very own Facebook page.

Resident Evil 15th Anniversary

On March 22nd 1996, Capcom released the game titled “Biohazard” to Japanese audiences, and started a franchise that has spanned 15 years. Re-titled “Resident Evil” in the United States due to copyright constraints, the series that came to be known as one of the staples of survival-horror gaming has produced over as many games as years it’s been alive, with 2 more on the way.

One of them, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, was a game we were able to take a look at at PAX East.

Check out what has gone on in this series that has spanned a decade and a half after the cut!

Botcon 2011 Registration is Live!

Botcon 2011 registration went live yesterday afternoon. There were some minor hiccups having to do with traffic at the outset, but that was brief and lasted less than 5 minutes. There were also some not so minor hiccups with the Hall of Fame dinner not included as an option. The dinner costs about $45 to attend, but was never an option to choose for about the first half hour of the registration. The Botcon twitter feed told everyone to hang tight and not try to re-register. They will have a fix shortly to allow those affected to circumvent the $6 fee to cancel a registration before re-registering. When that is ready it will be announced, so watch the Botcon twitter feed for updates.

Anyone who still wants to qualify to receive a ‘first day’ pin with their registration has until 5:30 PM EST to register.

See you at Botcon!

PAX East 2011: The Legend of Hung-Li

Penny Arcade mentions a "Grown-ass man cosplaying as Chun-Li"

Update: Watch the video of the shenanigans

At this year’s PAX I decided to cross play as Chun-Li and the reception was pretty excellent. A Penny Arcade strip even mentioned a “Grown-ass man cosplaying as Chun-Li” though it’s debatable if this was a reference to me or not. More on that later…

My costume wasn’t great. It was put together for this video review of the not so great movie “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li”. What it did do of course is show a LOT of leg. And by a lot of leg I mean some leg and some ass and maybe some balls. More details on my adventures at the con and my confrontation with my rival “Beard-Li” will be featured in an upcoming video. For now here’s a little overview of some highlights with photos and links to various places on the Internet where I’ve popped up.
