You may remember me posting a piece of news that the Four Horsemen were offering a seventh minotaur from their 7th Kingdom FANTastic Exclusive series. After just 78 hours of being available for pre-order the seventh exclusive minotaur, the Mynothecean Royal Guardsman, has sold out. That didn’t take long. The figure was limited to 250 pieces.
It was also stated that the previous six minotuars will be shipping in the next few weeks and everyone who ordered any should keep an eye out. I should be getting a set of 6 that you can look forward to getting a glimpse of in a future PowetToys episode. I, unfortunately forgot about the Royal Guardsman’s preorder and missed out, as I’m sure many others did as well.
Brett Ratner is working on a special edition to come out shortly after regular edition.
Apparently Wal-mart will have an exclusive disc packed with the regular version that includes a 50 minute diary from Ratner on the making of the movie that Europe will be getting standard with their regular edition.
DVDActive has posted the boxart for the two editions of the Superman Returns DVD release. There will be a two disc special edition, as well as a single disc edition. From their site:
Warner Home Video has officially announced Superman Returns which stars Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth, and Kevin Spacey. The film will be available to own in single ($28.98) and double-disc ($34.99) editions from the 28th November. Each will carry a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. As far as we know, the single-disc will be featureless, whereas the two-disc edition will include deleted scenes, along with Requiem for Krypton: Making Superman Returns – a comprehensive 3-hour documentary that takes you behind the scenes onto the set of Superman Returns.
Popbox Collectibles is putting together a line of statues that link together at their base and form a diarama. The line will be made exclusively for the asian market. It supposedly features major players in the Civil War conflict currently playing out in the Marvel Universe. I say supposedly because the first wave is compromised of almost noone from the actual storyline. You can see the line ups below. Wave 1 is slated for October and Wave 2 is slated for December of this year. Pictures are below.
Wave 1:
Wolverine (old yellow costume, not Astonishing X-Men outfit)
YoJoe.com has a really interesting interview up with Ron Rudat. Rudat was a designer for the GI Joe franchise from 1980 to 1987. He was involved since the inception of the 3 3/4 inch line through what could be considered the golden years of the line. He gives some insight into the design process, in addition to a few of the inspirations for characters. Also, of note is the very last couple of lines in the interview. Check it out for yourselves. Its a good read.
