Tekken The Movie

First I’ve heard of it!
Slashfilm reports

Next up is a teaser poster for Screen Gems’ big screen adaptation of the popular Namco video game Tekken. The story follows two childhood friends who enter a worldwide martial arts tournament and uncover a secret that lies within the mysterious Tekken Corp. Charles Stone will direct. Film is set to hit theaters in 2009.

No Boll, no Paul WS Anderson, it can’t be that bad, right? But Who is Charles Stone? He’s the man behind THIS.

King Of Iron Fist. True. True.

Rock Band: Final Track Listing

The other day we found out the final track list of Guitar Hero III, and its only fair we post the other major music simulator. I’ve compiled (at great time expense) videos for the track listing. The lead off track is “Gimme Shelter” by The Rolling Stones, at least chronologically. You might remember this song being in the Martin Scorsese films Goodfellas, Casino, and The Departed, and as well as being the title to the historic documentary about the final show on the Stones final 1969 tour.

Wolverine In Theaters 2009

wolverineorigins.jpg
The first spinoff of the X-Men movie series will be titled “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and will star Hugh Jackman in the role that made him famous. The release date is currently set for May 1, 2009.
Variety reports:

“Wolverine” is expected to feature many other mutants — some new to the film franchise and some from one or more of the three “X-Men” films. Liev Schreiber is reportedly in final talks to take on the role of a younger version of nemesis William Stryker, played by Brian Cox in “X2.”

Filming will begin later this year with Director Gavin Hood in Austrailia and New Zealand before moving to New Orleans, leading more than a few comic fans thinking the mutant Gambit may play a role. Victor Creed is mentioned, but no announcement has been made if Tyler Mane would reprise the role of Sabretooth from the first X-men film.

David Goyer’s “Magneto” movie should follow soon after. Its not known at this time if an “X4” will happen, or if the franchise will continue to spin off characters into larger roles.

Guitar Hero III: Final Track Listing

So you’re bored at work on this Monday morning and humming “Suck My Kiss” by Red Hot Chilli Peppers and wondering when you’ll be able to expand upon this by duplicating the song’s rhythm on a fully plastic guitar. I’ve got good news for you then. That song is included in Guitar Hero III’s full song lineup. Xbox 360 Fanboy posted all the songs with links to youtube videos.

The much talked about demo, which is available on Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, in Official Xbox Magazine, and as a torrent, will be available for Xbox Live members tomorrow.

Continue for the alphabetically organized song list. Cheer for the artists, jeer for the “as made famous by” listings. [Read the rest of this entry…]

Street Fighter IV: A New Beginning

sfivanb.jpg
Capcom was releasing some major teasers at their Gamer’s Day event yesterday, including a new Bionic Commando, and announced that their stellar Xbox 360 game Lost Planet would come to PS3 next year with all the downloadable content on disc.
But the announcement that takes the cake is Street Fighter IV. Its been a long time since Capcom made a new 2D fighter, and the last time the Street Fighter crew appeared was on the less than great Neo Geo game SVC Chaos.

But now we have A New Beginning, and a teaser trailer to go with it.

We don’t know who is making it, what system it will be for, or even if it will be a true 2D fighter, but if its not, why bother? Capcom knows their hardcore audience is still playing Alpha 2 Gold and 3rd Strike like they’re new games, so it makes the most sense to keep the legacy in tact. I hope for a limited arcade release followed by versions on every console that can run it. HD, 16×9, all that stuff.

If you’ve been wondering what happened to all the characters from Street Fighter II, you may want to look up The Later Years
