All week long, the Spider-Man 3 Minimate waves have slowly been revelead, via Art Asylum, Raving Toy Maniac, Minimate Multiverse, and Wizard. Each unveiled images from the line, which (coupled with the two Spidey Minimates from Wizard World LA) added up to the entire 17th and 18th wave… Except for the listed Battle-Damage Spider-Man, which is strangely missing from the images released. Here’s a list of all the characters included:
Marvel Minimates Series 17 – Red Spider-Man/New Goblin, Black-Suited Spider-Man/Flint Marko, Peter Parker/Eddie Brock, & a limited Transformation Venom
Marvel Minimates Series 18 – Transformation Spider-Man/Venom, Battle Damage Spider-Man/Sandman, Unmasked Black-Suited Spider-Man/Gwen Stacy, & a limited Mary Jane

DC and Marvel scrimped on the news today (what, tired of talking World War Hulk, Amazons Attack, and World War III already?), but some interesting news did surface about IDW’s Scarface prequel, Gene Simmons diving into the comic scene, and some great Heroes DVD (and HD-DVD) news. Read on! [Read the rest of this entry…]
I missed it yesterday, but Wizard World LA is featuring an exclusive two-pack of Minimates – Spider-Man and black-suited Spider-Man, as seen in a little movie called Spider-Man 3. The unique thing about this toy exclusive is that it’s also available for sale online, for the exact same price as that it’s selling for at the convention: a mere $7. You can buy them here, at the Diamond Select Toys site. Well, you can preorder them, at least. Estimated availability date is on March 26th.
Yes, I realize we JUST had two separate conventions. Clearly, this is nowhere near enough of them. Clearly.

Over on Marvel editor Tom Brevoort’s blog, a previously unannounced “Howard the Duck” series was revealed, via the preview page mirrored to the left. If this series is as good as his recent appearance in Civil War: Choosing Sides, it may actually be an interesting read, though the art definitely looks a bit different.
It’s worth mentioning that this is maybe the third time in the last 10 years that Marvel’s tried a Howard the Duck revival… But that this time they may be doing it without original creator Steve Gerber in the mix. At the moment, this page is all we know about the series, but if you’re interested in a quick-n-dirty version of Steve Gerber’s sordid past with Marvel, Tom Brevoort, and creator rights, then read on after the jump. In our ongoing coverage of Captain America’s alleged passing, two new developments have recently come to light. First, Joe Quesada (editor-in-chief of Marvel) sent a Cap’s shield over to Stephen Colbert for safekeeping, and we’ve got the video from the show to prove it. Secondly, there’s a strange new Punisher image that Marvel put out for circulation. See it side-by-side with the cover to Punisher: War Journal issue 7, and the video from The Colbert Report, after the jump. [Read the rest of this entry…]
Today, we take a look Thor and Hulk from the Marvel Legends Icons Line. This line features 14 inch tall figures with the same articulation of the standard 6 inch Marvel Legends line. You may remember taking a look at the first two figures in this line when we did the Powet Toys: Civil War edition.
