The Four Horsemen have really brought a great showing to SDCC 2010 with prototypes of their Symbiotech line, Outer Space Men line, and more. They have a beautiful art print for sale showcasing many of their long time properties that have appeared in their annual FANtastic Exclusive polls. The print is on sale at their booth and their online store, StoreHorsemen.com. It was done by FANEx member, Baena, who has done other art commissions for the 4H properties. Click the image above to see the full poster in all its glory!
Action Figure Insider snapped this great picture of the Symbiotech prototypes on display including a brand new pair called Bipedix and Bipedon on the right. Guanos and Sonos are on the left. If you look at the top middle of the picture, you will see an unpainted prototype. Look closer and you will note that is Tygos riding in some form of vehicle made of Tygolith’s armor! Now, thats pretty darn cool!
[UPDATE – Crazy] I want to point out the gallery over at Michael Crawford’s site. It has some fantastic pictures of what the Horsemen had on display including the Tygos riding the combined parts vehicle from Tygolith. That can be seen here.
In the recent issue of ToyFare magazine, it was announced that the secret line that the Four Horsemen were putting together, in addition to The Outer Space Men, was in fact their homemade brand Symbiotech. One of many home grown properties that the group has developed, Symbiotech has been in the voting for their annual FANtastic Exclusive event since the start. The original pitch in the FANEx polls for the line was as follows:
Symbiotech is a dual scaled, beast/rider property where the connection between the two characters lies in their Sybiotech armor. When the larger beasts don Symbiotech armor, the smaller riders gain the ability to bond with the great beasts in order to become one destructive battle machine. As mentioned before, Symbiotech would be a dual-scaled line where the riders would be around three inches tall, and the beasts would be around eight inches tall. Each character would feature moderate articulation and character specific armor and weapons.
A reminder to all collectors that today is MattyCollector Day for July 2010. On sale today at noon EST will be Masters of the Universe Classics (MOTUC) Count Marzo, joined by DC Universe Classics (DCUC) Wave 13. This wave consists of Wonder Girl, Superboy, Cheetah (both modern and classic), Blue Devil, Cyclotron, Negative Man, Blue Beetle (modern, Jaime Reyes) and the Collect n’ Connect figure is Trigon.
Here it is. Your monthly MattyCollector Day reminder.
Start taking deep breaths because this month is another perfect storm of releases featuring the much anticipated Masters of the Universe Classics edition of She-Ra, followed by the MOTUC Bonus figure, Keldor and the reissue of the limited release Faker. Not only that, but MattyCollector is experimenting with their JLU offerings. Having considered the 3-packs a failure on the site, they are now offering a larger carded single figure in the form of Lobo. He will be a test to see how single oversized figures fare on sale day with a ridiculous price of $20. Have fun with that JLU collectors. Ghostbusters collectors will have the opportunity to purchase the slimed Peter Venkman figure with Slimer.
And what is sure to be a big hit for the site is the re-release offering of DC Universe Classics wave 5 as a set. This was the extremely difficult to find Wal-Mart exclusive Metallo wave.
And with this video, I prove that I really am out of my mind. After the jump you can see the commercial I parodied in the video. Special thanks to Zac Shipley for help with the music for the parody portion and lending his voice for the chorus! [Read the rest of this entry…]
This is your monthly reminder, friends and readers! Today at Noon Eastern, the products available for the month of May will go on sale. This month includes Space Mutant Optikk, Giant Tytus and Reissue Mer-man from the MOTUC line. Also available will be Walter Peck with Containment Unit, Retro-Action Green Arrow, and Dark Knight Two-Face. Pictures are after the jump. Good luck! [Read the rest of this entry…]
The Four Horsemen have acquired their first license. Over the past couple months, the Four Horsemen have been hinting at a new project on their FANtastic Exclusive message board. Subtle hints were given along with blurry close up images to tease us. While the members of the board figured it out last week, the official announcement has finally come down that the secret project was indeed, The Outer Space Men.
Who are The Outer Space Men, you ask? Well, I had no idea either.
More info after the jump!
I’m a little late with this today, but do not forget that today is the April MattyCollector day. Evil-Lyn with Screeech, Reissue Hordak, the Ultimate Battlegrounds accessory set, 12″ Peter Venkman and Movie Masters Night-Vision Batman will all be on sale at 12 Noon EST on MattyCollector.com.
