In the recent issue of ToyFare magazine, it was announced that the secret line that the Four Horsemen were putting together, in addition to The Outer Space Men, was in fact their homemade brand Symbiotech. One of many home grown properties that the group has developed, Symbiotech has been in the voting for their annual FANtastic Exclusive event since the start. The original pitch in the FANEx polls for the line was as follows:

Symbiotech is a dual scaled, beast/rider property where the connection between the two characters lies in their Sybiotech armor. When the larger beasts don Symbiotech armor, the smaller riders gain the ability to bond with the great beasts in order to become one destructive battle machine. As mentioned before, Symbiotech would be a dual-scaled line where the riders would be around three inches tall, and the beasts would be around eight inches tall. Each character would feature moderate articulation and character specific armor and weapons.

More info (and pictures) after the jump.

The smaller figure, called a Pygma, will be about a 3 3/4 inch figure, while the larger Goleth figures will be about 6-7 inches in scale. There have been prototypes for these figures for close to a decade now, but the Four Horsemen have completely reworked Tygos and Tygolith and given them a significant boost in articulation and play value adding some compatibility to the Glyos joint system from Onell Design. They will be doing the same to all the rest of the prototypes as well, but for now they have given us a glimpse at the first two figures.

These two guys will be the first releases for Symbiotech, and if we can work it out, we may release a second Pygma and Goleth pair at the same time to create the first wave!

We’re extremely excited about the new Symbio-Lock articulation we’ve put into Tygos! He has ball & socket joints at the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees, and ankles!!

The back-packs and other fittings on the character’s armor are compatible with Onell Designs: Glyos pop & play system!

Not only that, but the shoulder joints have also incorporated the Glyos build system into the ball & socket joint which will allow customizers a new level of interchangeability!!

Check out the photos, let us know what you think, and if you’re at Comic Con, please be sure to come by booth #4045 to see the original, non-updated prototypes of three more Symbiotech: Pygma/Goleth pairs!
