Powet Top 5 Reasons to Love Aaron Sorkin’s “Newsroom”

Full confession: I already love Aaron Sorkin. Mostly, I loved Sports Night, which was a two-season series on ABC, which I found to be no end of fun and woefully underrated. It certainly had problems that got in the way of its mass appeal, so its cancellation after two years wasn’t entirely unexpected. It’s been nearly fifteen years since that show started, so Aaron Sorkin must have learned from what did and didn’t make that show work, right?

Oh yes he did, and here are the top five reasons why.

Bruce Willis meets younger self in sequel to Disney’s “The Kid”

Bruce Willis in Disney's The Kid

In 2000 Bruce Willis was a hot commodity and so he got a 20 million dollar pay cheque for appearing in the Disney dramatic comedy “The Kid”. In the film Bruce Willis’s character has an encounter with a young version of himself through time travel! After this fun ordeal full of laughs and heartwarming scenes Bruce Willis learns a lesson from a child and turns his life around.

Spencer Breslin vs. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Who looks more like Bruce Willis?

Well this story isn’t over quite yet! It looks like Bruce Willis is back and this time he needs to teach his younger self, this time played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a lesson about doing crime in Disney’s Looper! But is the movie really about young Bruce Willis learning a lesson or will we once again see that Bruce Willis has to learn a lesson of his own from his younger self, as he did in Disney’s The Kid?

‘Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn’ Teaser Trailer

There is not a whole lot to chew on here, it really is a teaser for a web series leading up to the release of Halo 4.

Live action commercials and shorts were used to promote Halo 3, ODST, and Reach, so it is of no surprise to see another one. What is a shock is series protagonist Master Chief will appear. We may never get that big budget Halo movie, but the Sparan II armor shown in this video looks pretty good.

Expect the series to run online starting in October.

$20 Game of the Week: Analog – A Hate Story (PC, Mac OSX, Linux)

The Digital Novel is a genre of gaming that isn’t popular over on this side of the Pacific due to its heavy emphasis on story rather than action. However, this title from independent developer Christine Love is worth checking out for its non linear storytelling, although clearly it isn’t meant for everyone. Designed as a spiritual successor to her two previous games Digital: A Love Story and Don’t take it personally babe, it just ain’t your story, Analog’s deep story and 59,000 word count will keep open-minded players hooked.

Famicom Dojo Podcast: Extra Large

Granted, it was announced since recording this episode that the 3DS XL is going to have its own circle pad, but that didn’t stop us from wondering a couple of things: a) Why it wasn’t built into the XL, and b) why it wasn’t announced during E3. Sean and Vinnk grapple with the relevancy of the biggest gaming industry event in the US, and come to the terrifying conclusion that just MAYBE Nintendo might not want third parties to succeed…
