Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Announced and Full Roster Leaked

Today Capcom announced Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for November 2011, an updated version of Marvel vs Capcom 3 which came out in February. So far the only officially announced new characters for the updated version are Strider (Capcom), Firebrand (Capcom), Ghost Rider (Marvel), and Hawkeye (Marvel).

Joystiq noticed that art for character profiles was on Capcom’s web server and was able to download the full list of new characters. Capcom has since taken them down, but it seems likely this is the final lineup.
Capcom: Strider, Firebrand, Vergil, Frank West, Phoenix Wright, Nemesis
Marvel: Ghost Rider, Dr Strange, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye, Iron Fist

SDCC 2011: LEGO gets both the DC and Marvel licenses

This morning, I caught wind that LEGO had gotten the full DC Comics license. The deal will allow LEGO to create figures and playsets based on the characters and properties of DC Comics. The line will launch in January with 13 characters including Joker, Bane, Lex Luthor, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. The first pieces from the line will be on display at the LEGO booth at SDCC 2011 this weekend along with 3,000 Batman and Green Lantern exclusive figures as part of a promotion for the line.

The Marvel announcement stated that their deal would similarly cover figures and playsets. The license would take effect January 1, 2012 and would start seeing products roll out about May of 2012. The Super Heroes Marvel Collection would focus on the Avengers movie as well as classic Spider-man and X-Men characters. Some of the characters specifically mentioned included Wolverine, Nick Fury, Magneto, Deadpool, Spider-man, Doctor Octopus, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Loki and more. Select items, again, will be on display at SDCC 2011 this weekend.

It looks like both licenses will be brought under LEGO’s new Super Heroes line. LEGO scored a major coup with these two licenses and surely dealt a very strong blow to Hasbro’s up and coming construction block brand, KRE-O. Can KRE-O strike back with Star Wars?

Transformers: Dark of the Moon Sideswipe DLC – I’d Buy That for a Dollar!

Sideswipe Transformers Dark of the Moon DLC is 80 Spacebucks

The first DLC character for Transformers: Dark of the Moon is now available. Sideswipe is available for 80 spacebucks, which by my estimate is roughly a dollar. The PS3 version is similarly 99 cents. You know what I have to say to that?

Here are some screenshots of what this character looks like:

Falling Skies wants you to Shop Smart … Shop S-Mart?

TNT’s new show Falling Skies is great! It’s got the apocalypse, aliens, robots and Moon Bloodgood! It looks like it also has a lovely Army of Darkness reference. The show frequently references their Universe’s equivalent to Walmart as “Shop Smart”.

Falling Skies Shop Smart

The name may sound familiar to some. The store Ash works at in Army of Darkness is “S-Mart” who’s motto is “Shop Smart, Shop S-Mart”. Coincidence or intentional reference? Either way, I imagine Noah “Doctor John Carter of Mars” Wyle would save a bit of time if Shop Smart sold a few “Boom Sticks”.

The name's Ash, Housewares - Shop Smart, Shop S-Mart
