Debuted at the Spike Video Game Awards last night, we get our first glimpse at the sequel to one of the greatest games of 2009. Amongst the beautifully decrepit scenery we were shown from the first game, it also looks like Mark Hamil is reprising his role as the Joker. (I’d know that laugh anywhere)
Check out the chaos!

With the surge in Voltron articles, I wanted to join in on the fun. However, as I have nothing Voltron related, I figure the next best thing is a Voltron rip-off. Of course, what better rip-off is there than Power Rangers, the live action kids show that not only rips off Voltron, but also borrows liberally from Godzilla’s giant-monster-who-is-really-a-guy-in-a-rubber-suit theme? After Ninja Turtles and before Pokemon, Power Rangers emerged as the premiere kid’s show. It’s goofy monsters, giant robots (called Zords) and cheesy martial arts action made it a hit with school kids, and a nightmare for parents. The obligatory marketing blitz followed, complete with toys, costumes, video games, and even a movie. The movie, released at the height of the franchise’s popularity depicted a non-canon fight against new villain Ivan Ooze. There were also video game tie-in for SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, and Game Gear with Bandai handling the Nintendo versions, and Sega handling the Sega versions. Although they were intended for kids, they were pretty good for games based on movies.

The full feature on the newest Transformer game will be included in Game Informer magazine on December 14, but a short teaser video has already been posted.
Its highly unlikely this is in-game footage, but it does give us a peak at what Cybertron in this game shorld look like. Also, check out the big guy at the end!
Game Informer has a TF mini-site where new information about the game will be posted all this month.

So maybe the original Saint’s Row wasn’t the most original game of 2006, but it was wickedly fun, and its open world action improved on Grand Theft Auto’s formula in many aspects. It’s shock ending guaranteed that fans would be clamoring for a sequel, and sure enough, THQ and Volition deliver. Other than a few tweaks here and there, the developer sticks to the ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ school of thought. Saint’s Row definitely was not broken, and it’s time for gamers to take a return trip to Stillwater.

In New Super Mario Bros Wii, Nintendo has brought back the long dormant “Koopalings.” These seven characters are supposedly Bowser’s children and appear as stage antagonists in several Mario games. It is said that during the production of Super Mario Bros 3, Shigeru Miyamoto based each of them on a member of the design team.
But when Super Mario Bros 3 was released in 1988 to Japan, the kids were not given names. Only a year and a half later when Nintendo Of America released the game did they get names. The localization team did their best to match their appearances with some obvious, and less obvious names. See how obscure they get!

Former 1UP and current Game Informer writer Phil Kollar has been teasing his big cover story for the magazine on twitter lately, and he just fessed up some details: “Yes, it’s a new Transformers game.”
Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of the game are on the way, tenatively titled “The War For Cybertron”
Artwork from the magazine (left) shows Optimus Prime, and theres a hearty influence of The War Within, as action will be set before our favorite transforming robots arrive on Earth.
TheAllspark broke the story earlier this evening, but Kollar says images and a trailer will be online later this week. Look for the issue of Game Informer at GameStop very soon.

Since the alphabet is the building block of our language, the Powet Alphabet is the building block of what makes us geeks.
Since the dawn of time, there have been gender roles in the society of mankind. I could go into a huge explanation of this basis, but if you took any history lesson in your life, you already know the basics. In short, there have always been things that have been either strictly for guys, or strictly for girls. For the longest time there were these gender roles with very little overlap. Video games were, and have been, one such area.
