The Powet Top 5: Top 5 Characters that deserved to be in Fall of Cybertron, but were not

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron was released only a couple short weeks ago, but it seems that is all we have been playing. An incredibly fun and varied game, it includes some new playable characters that we had not seen before in the game’s predecessor, Transformers: War for Cybertron. Some of the new characters included fan-favorites like Jazz, Cliffjumper, the Combaticons and the Dinobots. This list offers a look at what could have been, what is missing and what is still yet to come in terms of characters appearing in the game.

Powet Top 5 – Bullet Hell Games

Everyone likes a challenge, right? It’s the cornerstone of video gaming or gaming in general and gives us things to strive for. Several different gaming genres catered to specific challenges that gamers wanted to test their skills at. Want to see how well you can memorize things? Try Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct for their ability to throw insane combo strings at you. Want to test your mettle and see how much of a brave person you are? Go ahead and play Silent Hill 2 or the more recent Slender to see how much you are, in fact, a little girl.

Want to be barraged by near-endless curtains of projectile death in order to see how well your dodging skills are and your resistance to collapsing into twitching messes? Bullet Hell games are right up your alley!

A sub-genre of the classic shoot’em-up games, Bullet Hell gaming is exactly what it sounds like – you doing nothing but maneuvering into endless waves of bullet-like projectiles with a emphasis on precise movements in order to survive. The sub-genre itself isn’t as recent as some people might think, but it’s only gotten more insane with time. Here’s a list of top Bullet Hell games that leave people with twitchy fingers and darting eyeballs for day afterwards, and be sure to let us know what yours are if any were missed!

The Powet Top 5 – AIs that have AI in their name

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.

Ai from Video Girl AI

Artificial intelligence or AI as it’s known for short describes the minds of robots, computer systems, pretty much software. This intelligence is the basis for some of our favourite sci fi characters. This is not a list of the best AIs. This is a more specific list of only the best AIs with AI in their name. How common is that? Very common, as it would turn out. Are all of these intentional? Hard to say for sure but I think most of them are.

Keep reading to see my top 5 favourite artificial intelligences with A and I in their names.

Powet Top 5: Top 5 Video Game Remakes

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.

Screenshot from the forthcoming Rise of the Triad remake, rebuilt from the ground up using Unreal Engine 3.

It’s quite easy to remake something, be it a tv show, movie, or video game. Maybe that’s why there are so many of them. At worst, a remake can be nothing more than a simple cash grab aimed at nostalgic fans. At best however, it can bring back what fans loved about the original work while introducing it to a whole new generation of fans. It’s not hard to make a good remake either, especially in gaming. There are 4 simple steps to making one:

1. Preserve (and enhance when and where necessary) what worked the first time around
2. Fix (or get rid of) what didn’t work
3. Add in new features that enhance the original experience without diluting it
4. Give it a graphical makeover. It doesn’t have to use today’s cutting edge graphics (and in some cases, it probably shouldn’t, just so as long as it looks better than it did the first time.

Here are 5 of the best remakes in video games. They’ve gone above and beyond simply reskinning and re-releasing the original game, they’ve added to it, and in some cases changing it completely while preserving what players loved about it so many years ago. Check them out, and sound off below if there is a remake that you enjoyed or that you want to see.

The Powet Top 5 – Level 1 Game Themes

Ok, I’m going to start off by immediately saying that this list does NOT, in fact, represent my top favorite game themes. Neither does it mean to undermine any of the multitudes of iconic first-level game tunes that didn’t make this list. This list is simply made up of those jingles upon first entering a game’s plane of existence that meant the most to me and why. (and yes, most are from older games)

I see you there with the pitchfork and torch. Don’t try to hide it.

So here are my top 5 most iconic 1st Level tunes from video games.

The Powet Top 5 – Best Disney Channel series

Walt Disney Television Logo

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.

Disney Channel shows get a bad rap! I get a lot of flack to watching them. While they are at times pretty horrible, there are a few of them that are really good and worth checking out. While everything on this list is admittedly fairly juvenile, and often subject to cliches, these shows are often very funny, and are a kind of proving ground for some pretty good actors.

Disney makes a lot of shows, but this list is just about Disney Channel series. This means nothing from the Disney afternoon or anything that wasn’t made for Disney Channel proper will be included. I also understand that everyone is in love with Phineas and Ferb but I haven’t watched that show so it’s not on my list. If you don’t like my list, let us know what yours is!

The Powet Top 5 – Top 5 Reasons The Transformers Ride is Totally Awesome

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.

I was not adequately prepared for Transformers: The Ride. I expected to have fun, and to appreciate what I imagined as a fairly straightforward thrill ride with some Transformers window dressing.

Boy, was I in for treat.

Transformers is a fantastic ride. It’s the longest ride at Universal at a whopping four minutes, and it’s an incredible, exciting four minutes. Filled with impressive 3D effects, it really feels like you’re cruising through the Transformers universe. And if that was it, I would have been happy. Luckily, the ride experience is far more than just those four minutes. Here are the top 5 reasons (other than the ride itself) why Transformers: The Ride is amazing.
