Star Wars 2007 30th Anniversary Wave 1 figures announced

Star Wars LogoThat seems like a really long post title, so let me break it down for you. Star Wars came out in 1977. Next year, being 2007, will be the 30th Anniversary of the franchise. To celebrate such an occasion, Hasbro is putting out a special line of 3 3/4 inch figures. They have finally announced the figures in Wave 1.

  • Galactic Marine
  • Mustafar Lava Worker
  • R2-D2
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Mace Windu
  • Clone Trooper
  • Super Battle Droid (can attach to R2-D2)

You can see pictures and descriptions of these figures here on Hasbro’s site.

Revoltech line adds Ingram 02 and Soltic

revoltech1.jpgFigures.com is reporting that two new figures have been added to the Revoltech lineup.

  • Ingram 02
  • Soltic

The Ingram mecha hails from the Patlabor series and the Soltic mecha originates from the “Fang of the Sun Dougram” anime series.
Two images are mirrored below. You can see more Ingram 02 images here and Soltic images here.

FANtastic Exclusive 2007 Round 2 almost over

Four HorsemenIt slipped past my radar, but Round 1 of the FANTastic Exclusive 2007 voting already ended with the 7th Kingdom property coming out on top. The 7th Kingdom is the same property that Xetheus the Minotaur hails from.
From the site:

Proposed line description : The Seventh Kingdom is a classic fantasy/mythology toy line. The story centers around the citizens of six great kingdoms all fighting for an unclaimed seventh kingdom that will shift the balance of power in the victor’s favor. The diverse kingdoms are as follows: animal, humanoid, elemental, alien, mutant outcasts, and machines. The proposed format of the line is six to seven inches tall with well hidden super articulation. Each character would have his or her own specific weapon(s).

The Four Horsemen have put up the second round of voting with eight choices of characters to vote on. The choices are:

  • Human General
  • Alien Shaman
  • Mutant Thug
  • Elemental Warlord
  • Machine Overlord
  • Human Queen
  • Elephant Swordsman
  • Female Elemental

You can see the designs here and vote on them here.

Being someone who actually purchased the Xetheus figure from the FANTastic Exclusive 2006 voting, I’d really like to see that Human Queen made into a figure followed by the Elephant Swordsman. Take a look and see what you want to vote for and let the Four Horsemen know you appreciate the powet of choice!

Unreleased Marvel Legends Havok Variant

Marvel LegendsTNI has a quick note up saying that a poster found the below image on the Woolworth.co.uk site. The image appears to be an unreleased variant of the Giant-Man series Havok figure. For more information on the costume itself, you can check out his costume gallery

Possible Wii-mote packaging

Just checking some email while at Botcon 2006 and found something interesting. Take this with the usual grain of salt, but thissite is linking to a flikr image that appears to be packaging for the Nintendo Wii’s motion sensitive controller. I mirrored the image below for your perusal, but remember this is far from anything definite so consider this to be merely a rumor for now.

Sony Keynote at TGS 2006

Joystiq has some coverage of Ken Kutaragi’s apparently uneventful keynote here. An amusing live pictochat session during the keynote can be found here.

Highlights from a post-keynote interview:

  • 20 GB version price dropped about 20% (Japan only for now)
  • HDMI support added to 20 GB model

TMX – Tickle Me Elmo 10th Anniversary

We’ve all heard that there is going to be a new Tickle Me Elmo toy this holiday season and how hot its going to be. Supposedly its already sold out everywhere. I don’t know how true that is, but I found this video and it shows why the X in TMX stands for eXtreme!

Marvel Legends Icons Wave 2

Marvel LegendsSuperHeroTimes has some nice pics up of the Icons wave 2 figures along with the variants. I have mirrored the images below. Wave 2 includes Venom and the Incredible Hulk. The variants are Grey Hulk and unmasked Venom. The wave has recently had many sightings so keep an eye out! I saw the Grey Hulk last week.
