Gundam 0079 on Wii

wiigundam.jpgI know what you’re thinking: “Hey, the Wii has been out 5 months, where all the Gundam games?!?”

Well step down off your mobile horse and take a look at this.

I can’t read a lick of Japanese so someone will have to tell me if the Kanji for “minigames” appears on this page. Otherwise, looks like motion controlled shooting in the Universal Century as the RX-78-2. Now I gotta get me one of these. Char’s Wiimote!

Iron Man Director Favreau Comments On Photos

Iron Man Movie
A few weeks back we took a peek at the Iron Man Mark 1 suit, and then a few days ago we saw the first official picture of Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark.

Jon Favreau has posted comment regarding both on Myspace:

Let me confirm a few things: The movie will contain both the gray suit and the gold and red. The light you see in the photo on Robert’s chest in the USA Today article is the chest piece glowing through his shirt. He is in captivity and forging the mask of the Mark 1. Both suits have been built practically by Winston Studios and are busily at work as we speak. We are exploring ideas for teaser trailers, though no date has been decided. We are planning to attend San Diego Comicon. Bridges is bald and plays Stane. The movie is on schedule and could not be going better.

Sounds great. Only a year to this movie? Sign me up.

Spider-Man 3’s New Theme

Danny Elfman will not provide the score to the newest Spider-Man movie, but you can hear Christopher Young‘s new theme in the latest trailer for the Spider-Man 3 game.

I didn’t think much of the theme for the first 2 movies, but this one is quite good. Doesn’t jump up out at you like the old John William’s Superman theme did (nothing since has), but its definitely my favorite modern superhero movie music.

GameHead Miyamoto Super Tribute

gameheadmiyamoto.jpg
SpikeTV’s GameHead took their entire episode this week to honor Shigeru Miyamoto. In addition to Geoff Keighly interviewing the man himself, they also took comments from the editors of Kotaku and GoNintendo, the cast of Mega64, and the GameJew. Charles Martinett, the voice of Mario, provides narration between segments.

Its an interesting retrospective, but the secretive Nintendo hero doesn’t give much of a look forward other than the tease that a once cancelled game may still see release.

Kojima: “Smash Bros Brawl Is A Lot Of Fun”

sneakysnake.jpg
Hideo Kojima, mastermind of Metal Gear Solid, has played Super Smash Bros Brawl. Not only has he played it, he said:

The game already feels very complete, it’s already a lot of fun and that you guys (Sakurai’s studio) could put it out now, and it would sell millions of copies.

This is very, very good news. For Hideo Kojima, since he got to play it and we didn’t. The rest of us will have to put up with the fact that what will surely be the biggest Wii title yet is coming along great. I guess a 2007 release date isn’t out of the question?

This news comes from the Kojima Productions podcast, which I never would’ve suspected is in English!

Gears Of War Movie Early Look

gearsofwar.jpg
Latino Review‘s El Mayimbe has scored a read of the 22 page treatment for the Gears Of War movie we heard about a while ago.

While its a treatment, not a full script and could be subject to many revisions, it sounds like an amazing companion to an amazing game. The game tossed you right into the most action-packed part of the story, with very little in game to go over the background of what happened before. This movie fleshes out Marcus and Dom’s military career before the game, and also shows off Emergence Day. We’ll also see Cole actually playing thrashball!

I realize making Halo into a movie might’ve been crazy. The male lead never shows his face, the female lead is a computer program. The story is there, the action is there, but its a huge leap for a studio to take. Gears on the other hand is a lot more cinematic than Halo, and has every right to be turned into a great war movie with some sci-fi action. What do you think? Are Marcus, Dom, Baird, and Cole destined to be the next great movie team? Who could even direct this monstrous movie? Leave a comment!

Cameron and Manson team up for 3D music video

mechanicalanimal.jpg
Bloody Disgusting reports on the next project to be released from Director James Cameron. Its not Avatar, its not Jesus, its Marylin Manson.

Marylin Manson will release a new album soon titled “Eat Me, Drink Me” and the man himself has conceptualized another shocking video for the track “Heart Shaped Glasses.” Academy Award winner Cameron filmed the clip using his new favorite 3D technology so you at home can feel like you’re in a bloody sex scene. Watch a short clip at YouTube, but not when your boss is around.

Robot Chicken does Star Wars

robot-chickens.jpg

In honor of the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, Cartoon Network’s Robot Chicken will dedicate an entire episode toward the film classic.

CNN reports that its got George Lucas involved, as well as Mark Hamill who will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in the stop motion animated satire. The rest of the voice cast is decidedly un-Star Wars, with Conan O’Brien, Joey Fatone, and Hulk Hogan. Lucasfilm will also provide the authentic sound files for Chewbacca and R2D2.
