Xbox 360 owners rejoice! Our love-struck hero is not only being joined by his roommate Wallace Wells as a new playable character, but up to three of your friends can join Scott Pilgrim’s posse via online multiplayer. However, these new powers also come with a 400 MS point price tag. Wait, we’re still using MS Points? Weren’t those phasing out this year?

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is possibly the most fun side-scrolling beat-em-up this side of Castle Crashers, so it’s good to see it get a little extra life in the form of online multiplayer. It might seem a little weird that this update comes in the form of a paid DLC pak for an XBLA title (do they even DO that?), except that this game already has one DLC item in the sprightly form of a Knives Chau playable character for 80 MS Points.

Fans of the feature film beware: this title it directly based on the comics that spawned the motion picture, and so is rife with the sort of in-jokes one might expect for those more familiar with the source material.

The “complete” Scott Pilgrim with all DLC currently costs 1360 MS Points ($17) to buy, which is still quite a bargain for such a fun game — and far cheaper than the $100 it would cost to get every book individually (or, apparently, much less for the boxed set via Amazon.com).

Maybe I’ll see you online sometime, and we can fight evil together with the power of love, or some such nonsense.

Scott Pilgrim: Online Multiplayer+Wallace Pack by Ubisoft hits XBLA on August 19th for 400 MS Points. So far no details on a release for PSN.

And, in case it isn’t clear, see this author’s unabashed and totally biased love for this property in video form:

“Is this Canadian money?”
“Run!”
