Conan O’Brien Joins The DC Universe

Conan’s new show is filmed on the Warner Bros lot, and that means he’s on the same campus where DC Entertainment is run. In this bit from his December 9th show, Conan sits down with Warner Bros Animation Creative Director Peter Girardi to grill him about some of the less awesome characters from the DC Universe.

Conan then joins Bruce Timm, character designer from Batman The Animated series and producer of many DC animated works that came after (Including the upcoming Green Lantern series). Timm takes direction on turning the host into a character worthy of joining the DC Universe, The Flaming C.

New Thor Trailer Posted

Very similar to the one we’ve already seen, but definitely features some new scenes!

Destroyer figure from 3 3/4 inch Thor Movie Line Revealed

It looks like the latest issue of Toyfare not only revealed the April 2011 figure for MOTU Classics, but it also featured the Destroyer figure from the upcoming 3 3/4 inch Thor movie line. It is in scale with the other figures, meaning it is significantly larger. The issue also shows some of the other figures from this line and the Captain America movie line that we had already seen at NYCC this year.
As posable as that Thor figure looks, he seems to only be able to stand thanks to his cape. I’m curious how well balanced he is when posted standing straight up. Destroyer looks pretty solid all around.

$20 Game of the Week: Tropico 3 Gold Edition (PC)

Tropico 3 takes things back to the theme of the original game, which had you running a Banana Republic (rather than the second game which had you running a base of operations for pirates). Of course this time, everything takes place on a 3D map complete with a customizable avatar of the President. As the newly elected/appointed/installed ruler of a small Caribbean island, it falls on you to shape the island’s destiny while remaining in power for as long as possible. There are several factions you’ll have to satisfy, each having thier own needs. The capitalists want to see the island making good profits and having top notch entertainment, the communists want to see that everyone has decent housing and a good job, the religious want to make sure the island has high moral standards, while the intellectuals want to insure Tropico has unbiased media, good schools, and honest elections. In addition to the factions, you will also have to juggle your relationship with the US and Russia (this takes place during the cold war you know), so they won’t decide to invade your shores.
