Wii Gamecases Revealed

As a compliment to Crazy’s last entry, I stumbled across an images of the Wii DVD cases.� They’re basically the normal DVD cases we’re all used to by now, except they’re molded out of white plastic, which seems to be Nintendo’s current favorite plastic.

Very cool. I notice no memory card slot. To be honest I’m not totally clear on what the memory card of choice will be since there were like 3 options last I saw but I certainly hope it’s portable to some extent.

Well, despite the fact that there is no memory card slot, any standard SD card should fit in a DVD case–of course SD cards do come with their own plastic cases…so it’s not a big deal at all.

Well yeah I just like the idea of being able to carry only the game and have my card right in there. Nintendo did it with their last system so I don’t see why they wouldn’t with this.

So will SD be their standard format for memory cards or can you also save Wii games to a gamecube card?

I imagine that you’ll either have to use the avaliable 512mb of flash memory built into the system or an SD card to save data. I highly doubt the GC cards can be used for Wii saves.

Well I have an SD card for my camera. I may buy another just for the Wii. Actually I’ll probably just get a bigger one for my camera and use that one for the Wii. I want to have something I can bring with me.
