Ever since MVC Infinite was revealed late last year, information about the game has been scarce. However, yesterday Capcom revealed part of the game’s story in the trailer above. Ultron and Sigma use the Infinity Stones to merge and create a new world. Surprising, as the story is all but nonexistent in most Capcom fighters, including MVC. The trailer also reveals several characters being a part of the game’s cast: The Hulk, Strider, Chun-li, Chris Redfield, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye, and Thor. Still an alarming lack of mutants however, and we’ve yet to see anyone completely new to MVC besides Captain Marvel, Ultron, and Sigma. No doubt we’ll see more in the coming months. For now, check out the trailer, and tell us what you think. MvC Infinite hits Xbox One, PS4, and PC on September 19th.
I love crossovers. Whether it’s Super Smash Brothers, Capcom vs SNk, King of Fighters, Warriors Orochi, Marvel vs Capcom, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, or really, anything vs Capcom, there is just something special about taking players from one company and either putting them against or teaming them up with characters from another company. Thus, when Project X Zone hit the Nintendo 3ds in 2012, bringing together characters from Capcom, Sega, and Namco, I had to check it out. I was not disappointed. Of course in 2015 when a sequel was announced with a 2016 release date, that became an instant must-watch game for 2016. Again, I was not disappointed. [Read the rest of this entry…]
Hope you had a Merry Christmas poweteers! As our gift to you we’ve packed in some of the biggest fighting game news from this past month. Some of these you might have seen before, some you might not have. Check after the jump to check it out. Also, be here next week for New Year’s beatdowns, where we take a look at some of the worst, and barley adequate, fighting games in existence.
..And only 23 years after the merchandising tie-ins! Well not exactly (the comic was onlyannounced at comic con this past summer), but IDW publishing is putting out a 6-issue miniseries that pits Capcom’s pugilists against Hasbro’s Real American heroes. Written by Aubrey Sitterson (Hulk, Superman, Tech Jacket) and penciled by Emilio Laiso (Hack/Slash), SFXGJ will see M.Bison and Destro team up to hold a martial arts tournament with fan favorites such Ryu, Snake Eyes, Chun-Li, and Scarlet looking to take them down. Hopefully this will lead into a sequel featuring characters from Mortal Kombat. Or an ACTUAL VIDEOGAME!!
Huge multiverse-spanning crossovers seem to be the big theme this summer with DC’s recently concluded Convergence and Marvel’s current event Secret Wars. However, one event you may be missing is Archie Comics’ Mega Man/Sonic: World’s Unite, featuring characters from Mega Man and Sonic, along with Mega Man X, Sonic Boom, and the game libraries of both Sega and Capcom. The sequel to 2013’s World’s Collide, Worlds Unite doesn’t stop with our blue heroes, but instead brings in characters from Street Fighter, Nights: Into Dreams, Breath of Fire III, Alex Kidd, and more to give comic fans the greatest crossover videogame they’ll never play. Check after the jump the see the issue order. With two issues left to go, including next week’s Sonic the Hedgehog 275, you’ll want to catch up on the action. [Read the rest of this entry…]

As you know, next week is E3, the wonderful time of the year where we get hyped up for games that we won’t see for at least another 4 months. We can only guess what surprises that Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, along with several major publishers and developers will have in store for gamers this year. However, today sees a couple of huge potential leaks: One, being a cel-shaded Transformers brawler and the other being new DLC for Smash Brothers. Unless and until they are confirmed at E3, these two rumors should only be taken as little more than speculation, even if we have screenshots. [Read the rest of this entry…]
