We’ve been gawking in the powet forums at much of the art that is surfacing from the “Under The Influence: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” Art Show. There is truly some amazing art on display that pays tribute to the Masters of the Universe franchise. Thats not what this news post is about though. The show opening on Friday was supposed to also host the announcement of one of the Mattel SDCC exclusives, rumored to be a ‘celebrity’ exclusive (whatever that means), but it was not long before MattyCollector updated saying that they were not going to be allowed to show the figure. Fortunately for us, ActionFigureInsider reports the show did not disappoint and Mattel was able to bring some other surprises instead. Evil-Lynn was present and accounted for along with all of her accessories including the previously unseen Screech (repainted falcon; see DCUC Beast Boy, MOTUC Zoar w/ Teela) and a second orb for her staff. Evil-Lynn’s only prior appearance before this was in the exclusive picture in the latest issue of Toyfare.

Shortly after Mossman’s debut at SDCC 2009, problems were discovered with the flocking. Apparently the flocking was rubbing off at the points of articulation. This was early enough in the development life cycle for Mattel to play with the final result. After getting feedback from fans on the level of flocking, it seemed that Mattel was poised to do as much flocking on the action figure as the articulation would allow. The result? Mattel updated their facebook page the other day with photos of the finalized Mossman figure.
What is there to say? They flocked the shit out of that figure.
Some fans are not happy with the result and its stark differences from what was shown at SDCC 2009. Particularly the flocked ears.
Tell us what you think in the comments and see the rest of the Mossman photos after the jump!

Matty, of MattyCollector.com has updated his facebook page with a new update, a look at the Masters of the Universe Classics line from its inception to what we can expect in the future. It also has a brief explanation of the bonus figures and why they will not be part of the subscription, for better or worse. Now that we’ve seen a full year’s worth of releases and Matty has made clear what Mattel’s intentions are, it is only a matter of them being able to follow up on that and sort out the issues that Digital River is enountering with the ordering and shipping process. At the end of the day, I have faith that the next year of the line’s releases will be as amazing as this year’s, if not moreso. Assuming they can get them to me.
This little write up did answer a lingering question I had about why Scareglow was not the October figure for Halloween. I didn’t realize they had the line planned out as far as they did and what long-term consequences Mer-man’s delay caused.
You can read the long update after the jump.
Let us know what you’ve thought of the line so far in the comments!

Yesterday might have been considered a disaster for many fans trying to order items off of MattyCollector.com. No information was given for the error pages and ordering issues themselves outside of technical glitches, but Matty has just updated his facebook page with the following message:
SKELETOR UPDATE: To let all He-Fan knows, not all units of old bonehead arrived in time for yesterday’s sale. While this shipment of Skeletor sold out in record time, we’ve now confirmed more are coming (similar to Mer-Man back in April). Hopefully the remaining order will be here in first quarter 2010. As soon as we confirm they’ve arrived, we’ll post an update.
Mattel has a policy about not talking about specific numbers in their shipments, but this was information that needed to be distributed prior to noon yesterday. This was inexcusable.

A reminder to all Masters of the Universe Classics collectors! Burger King look-a-like King Randor (Club Eternia monthly figure), Teela repaint The Goddess (Bonus figure), and Skeletor (Reissue) will all go on sale today, Tuesday, December 15th, at noon, 12:00 EST. The figures are available exclusively at MattyCollector.com.
Reissue Skeletor features a softer loincloth for better leg articulation and a tighter grip on his left hand so he can grip his havok staff better. I believe his shoulders may have originally been reversed like the original He-Man and those should be fixed in this version.
In tribute to the Skeletor® from the 1984 line, a burst with “The Original” has been added to the front right corner of the package. The Skeletor® figure has the left hand corrected for “tight grip,” the face paint is improved, and the bio has been updated to include Demo-Man™.
Pictures of all three figures are after the break.
