Batman: Under The Red Hood is the latest DC comic adaptation going direct to DVD. This will be based directly on the Batman: Under the Hood story by Judd Winick.
As with previous DC animated movies, they’ve sidestepped the voice cast of the 90s animated series in favor of some outside talent. Bruce Greenwood is Batman with Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing and Jensen Ackles as Robin. Villains include John DiMaggio as The Joker, Jason Isaacs as Ra’s al Ghul, and Wade Williams as Black Mask.
The trailer seems to play up this animated as being as close to the last live action Batman movie as possible. It comes out on July 27, so we’ve got about 2 months to go. Its available for pre-order now.

Since the alphabet is the building block of our language, the Powet Alphabet is the building block of what makes us geeks.

It’s happened to all of us. You’re playing your favorite game, and you’ve thought of ways you could make it better. Maybe you were playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and you were wondering what the game would be like if you could bring DC or Capcom characters to battle alongside the X-men and Avengers. Maybe you had an idea for a kick-ass new track for Forza or Gran Turismo. Maybe you wondered what would happen if you put Starcraft’s Zerg against Warcraft’s Scourge. Or maybe you wondered what your favorite WWII shooter would be like with Zombie Nazis (oh wait a sec, Treyarch already thought of that one). Ever since the beginnings of PC gaming, it’s been increasingly easier to turn games on their heads. Thanks to the success of games such as LittleBigPlanet, the console gaming market is able to get in too (well, without the need for warranty-voiding console hacking at least). These past several years have seen an increase in games which utilize user-created content, almost to the point where the entire game is driven by it.

If you’ve been following my twitter feed, @powettoys, you’ll know I’ve been pretty excited about this announcement. The A-Team is getting a toy line for the forthcoming movie courtesy of Jazwares. Jazwares is known for their Sonic the Hedgehog figures and Ben10 action figure line among other things.

It appears a 3 3/4 inch line is one its way featuring each of the four main characters; Hannibal, Face, Murdock and BA Baracus, in addition to CIA Agent Lynch. Each figure will retail for about US$6.99.

   

A 12 inch line is also in the works with Hannibal and BA as the first two offerings featuring electronics. These will retail for about US$19.99 and feature next to no articulation as far as I can tell from the pictures.

Lastly and most importantly is the van. The van will be available in scale for the 3 3/4 inch line and will retail for about US$29.99. It will also feature electronics of some sort.

I can already see the awesome cross-line dioramas featuring these figures. A-Team vs The Dreadnoks. A-Team take on The Empire. Yes, I will definitely be adding these to my collection.

Normally I wouldn’t feature a game this mainstream in Lost Classics, but during my 16-Bit Powet Alphabet article, I opened with an image of Contra 3, despite the fact that I mentioned nothing about it during the article. Oh yeah, this game is just plain awesome too.

OK, so I hated Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. I promised myself I couldn’t get excited for a third in the series unless some major changes were made.

Director Michael Bay and his producers and writers seem to be on the right path. In recent weeks, respectable actors John Malkovich and Frances Mcdormand have been cast, and cult favorites Alan Tudyk and Ken Jeong will also appear. Bay said the the annoying Twins would not be back, though we have seen cars that might be them on set. Shia Labeouf then publicly apologized for Revenge of the Fallen being terrible. Things seem like they’re on the right track.

Now came word that Michael Bay has axed the shimmering orange piece of ass Megan Fox from Transformers 3. They’re looking for a replacement love interest now, and they’ll no doubt replace Fox with another shimmering orange piece of ass. I mean, look at Transformers 2 when they introduced a new love interest: Not exactly high class.

Still, I can hope and dream I that I can be a Transformers fan again without the most prominent feature being an embarrassment.

Here are the Dangerous Boy Tekkaman Blade and Ryu Hoshi to talk about Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, a fighting game for the Nintendo Wii.

It hasn’t been announced officially yet, but if you click on the ‘Registration coming soon’ button, you can register for Botcon 2010 in Orlando, Florida.
