Captain N Cameo in 90210?

Captain N Cameo in 90210?

In this week’s episode of 90210 we see a background character that looks a lot like Captain N: The Game Master. This jacket seems like a near perfect replica, except for a white instead of black N. Some specific details such as the NES game pad belt and Nintendo Zapper gun are lacking, and his shirt is not the standard yellow, but these may have been omitted because they would have been out of place given the setting…

The setting for this is that Annie convinces Marla to attend a screening of her old movie Pennyfoolish at the Griffith Observatory which somehow means a 1950s/1960s themed party that the whole gang attend.

So is this appearance intentional or is this just a random coincidence where someone happens to have the exact same coloured Letterman jacket? You decide!

Red Faction Origins Trailer

Editor’s note: I did not choose the thumbnail for the embedded video.

THQ’s Red Faction is being made into a SyFy Channel movie that may become an original series. We first heard about this a year ago, but its finally going to air in June 4.

This definitely looks like a Syfy original, which might not be a bad thing. Hopefully this movie and the next Red Faction title both live up to the seriously awesome and fun Red Faction Guerilla that came out in 2009.

Press release with cast details after the jump. [Read the rest of this entry…]

Powetcast 53: Fatality

Zac is joined by Crazy, aDam, Sean and Sindra once again. Listen for a (spoiler free) early review of Thor, a run down on Mortal Kombat and Dr Who, and a legnthy discussion on the PSN outage.

Also, Osama Bin Laden’s death was announced while we were recording, so the last few minutes of the show take a weird turn.

Elisabeth Sladen, Doctor Who’s Sarah Jane Smith, dies at 63

British actress Elisabeth Sladen, remembered fondly by Doctor Who fans as the Doctor’s assistant Sarah Jane Smith, passed away after a fight with cancer early this morning.

Elisabeth had been on Doctor Who from 1973 to 1976 and also appeared in the new Doctor Who show. She was the star of her own children’s series, the Doctor Who spin off the Sarah Jane Adventures. The show’s fifth season is currently still in production.

The Governator Trailer

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first post-politics project, his big return to the world of entertainment is… a children’s TV series. It was revealed last week, but I was sure it was an April Fools prank.

Now here is the cover of Entertainment Weekly and a completely ridiculous trailer where the action star turned governor turns into a super hero. Watch him talk to Larry King and fight Transformers to The Black Eyed Peas.

BET’S The Game Coming to Consoles this Fall!

Created by Mara Brock Akil as a spin-off to her previous TV hit Girlfriends, The Game is a show which examines the lives of three members of a fictional football team and their relationships with the women in their lives. It was originally shown on CW, but it was canceled after 3 seasons. It was then picked up by BET, where a strong fan following gave it a new lease on life in the form of a new season, which aired this past January. Now it seems like it’s going to be game time again, as Strata, the makers of the arcade classics Time Killers and Blood Storm, have once again teamed with Incredible Technologies, makers of the arcade version of Street Fighter The Movie (which fans have regarded as the definitive Street Fighter game due to its digital representation of Van Damme), to bring The Game to Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Sony PSP, PC, IPhone OS, Windows Phone 7, and Android in the form of a one-on-one fighter. Just as they have revolutionized arcades back in the 90s, Strata/I.T will no doubt bring The Game home in the only way to do so: with bloody combat, grisly dismemberment attacks, secret characters who are palette swaps of other characters, and a stripper pole in your bedroom.

Wonder Woman Set Pictures, The Costume Has Changed!

On the left, we have the first on set picture of Adrianne Palicki in the Wonder Woman costume. As you can see, the costume has change significantly from our first look. The shiny pants are gone, and the boots are now red. The stars on the legs were there before, but are a little more visible thanks to a change in the material.

The photo on the right is the same costume worn by someone who is clearly Palicki’s body/stunt double. Or maybe she’s making a weird face. Either way, she’s jumped up on top of that car, so we can look forward to Wonder Woman doing that in the pilot.

What do you think? Is this an improvement on the costume, like the old way better, or still think another direction was needed? Leave a comment below!

TV’s Wonder Woman Costume, Logo, and Villain

The pilot episode for NBC’s Wonder Woman show is being filmed currently, and with it lots of official and unofficial news. Firstly is the logo for the show, snapped off the back of one of the chairs on set courtesy WonderWomanTV. This may be a temporary logo, and might not even be used in the show’s titles.

Now the costume….
First of all, I’m just going to say that Adrianne Palicki As Wonder Woman is ridiculously hot. Of course any attractive woman in a costume that tight with that much cleavage was going to be hot.

Is the costume accurate? Well its certainly nothing like what Lynda Carter wore, showing off less leg and a lot more shine. Seriously, is this made out of plastic? The pants aren’t a huge deal honestly, but they probably should’ve gone black instead of blue for the final version of the outfit. Likewise, red boots. In fact, the Jim Lee version of Wonder Woman would have worked great for a prime time show, leather jacket and all. But yeah, the costume hits all the basic notes of a Wonder Woman costume, including the tiara, the bracelets, and of course the bust.

Its about Smallville quality and easily more impressive than The Cape, though not quite as cool as Dina Meyer’s Batgirl from BoP. Its seriously bright, and if the tone of the show matches the outfit, then we might be headed for disaster. On the other hand, David E Kelley got NBC to pick up yet another super hero show after a string of disasters, so I hope there is something to this. And maybe when she’s not in a photography studio, the outfit won’t look so over-saturated.

As a bonus, we also have a look at Elizabeth Hurley as the show’s villain, who is yet unnamed. Also, since she’s just wearing normal clothes, we don’t have any leads. In fact, this could very well just be a photo of Elizabeth Hurley walking in LA. Photo from Superhero Hype!
