New Metal Gear – Survive

While Hideo Kojima may have had parted ways with the studio and the series he helped make famous, that hasn’t stopped Konami from making new Metal Gear titles. Metal Gear Survive is a multiplayer co-op shooter with survival horror elements. Taking place after the ending to Ground Zeroes, MGS puts players in the role of a former Motherbase soldier who was sent into another dimension after the attack on the oil rig. In this new dimension, players will be besieged by zombie-like creatures as they fight for survival. In short, Konami is basically making Metal Gear Solid: Umbrella Corps. Hey, it might be insane enough to work. At any rate, Survive is an appropriate subtitle for this game, as it’s success and reception will determine if the franchise can survive without Hideo Kojima’s involvement. The game will be arriving in 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.

Metroid 2 Remake Just in Time for the Series’ 30th Anniversary

Obscure SNES Shooter Wild Guns Gets PS4 Exclusive Remake

In the remakes of games you never expected but secretly wanted department, Natsume had revealed footage of it’s upcoming remake/sequel to the SNES sleeper hit Wild Guns. The original game was a sci-fi meets western shoot-em-up where players took control of Annie or Clint as they hunted down criminals. The game was a third person gallery shooter which was from played behind the character, in the tradition of classic arcade games such as NAM 1975 and Cabal. Wild Guns Reloaded adds two new characters: Doris, a bounty hunter with the galactic federation, and Bullet, a Dachshund. That’s right, a dog. The game will also feature a mix of classic and new levels, a remade soundtrack, and 4 player co-op.

SDCC 2016 – Ghost Rider Comes to Agents of Shield Season 4

The rumors have been officially confirmed. Gabriel Luna (True Detective, Matador) will be taking the role of Robbie Reyes, a.k.a the Ghost Rider on Agents of Shield this forthcoming season. For those who don’t read the comics, Robbie Reyes is the most recent person to take the mantle of the spirit of vengeance. After losing his parents, Reyes lives along with his younger brother Gabe. When he is gunned down by gangbangers, Reyes becomes the Ghost Rider after being bonded with the spirit of Eli Morrow, a victim of gang violence. Rather than using a motorcycle like his predecessors, Reyes instead drives a souped-up muscle car. Instead of having a flaming skull, he wears a skull helmet that’s on fire.

If you’re disappointed that Ghost Rider is a character on Agents of Shield, remember, Reyes isn’t the only Ghost Rider in the comics, and it’s still possible for Marvel to make a movie or Netflix series with the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze (and of course Nick Cage would be nowhere near it this time). While Ghost Rider is an odd choice for Agents of Shield, but then again so were Deathlok and the Inhumans, and they fit quite nicely. It’s great to see Marvel TV dip more into the comics to supplement Agents of Shield.
