On set with Transformers 2 in Philadelphia

tf2phillybay.jpg
Philly radio legend Josh Landow snuck down to the Italian Market where director Michael Bay had assembled a crew for a scene in Transformers 2. Filming began last week in Bethlehem, PA.
No Transformers (that he saw) were on set, but John Tuturro, Shia Labeouf, and Megan Fox were all present. Read on for his description and some minor spoilers.

TRANSFORMERS 2: Revenge Of The Fallen

thefallens.jpg
Update: CHUD reports that The Fallen in the title of TF2 is in fact The Fallen from The War Within: The Dark Ages
This week in Bethlehem, PA the filming for the highly anticipated Transformers 2 began. And with this beginning comes the title: Revenge Of The Fallen. Whats this title mean? I have 3 theories of equal weight.
Well the most literal interpretation would be that Megatron will have his revenge after his fall in Transformers 1. Obviously this is something audiences would like to see since Megatron didn’t make his big entrance until the third act.
The second possibility is that they’ll incorporate the comic character The Fallen from Dreamwave’s shortlived Transformers Universe. He’s one of the fabled original 13 Transformers, who betrayed Cybertron and its inhabitants and is perpetually on fire. He’s the Judas of Transformers Universe, and he might have responded to Optimus Prime’s call.
The third, though unlikely, possibility is Jazz is returns after his brutal defeat for his own revenge. Darius McCrary was seen on set this week as well as the hard top Solstice GXP. It could be misinformation or unrelated to the title. Too soon to tell.

For news on the first week of filming, see this article from The Morning Call, as well as TFW2005 which has a story titled simply Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Spoilers and goes into great detail on the call sheet, the actors on set, as well as new vehicles and prototypes on set: Acura NSX, Audi R8, and an SR-71 Blackbird jet! Just like the X-men!

We’ll be following the movie as best we can from this point on, both here on the main page of Powet and on our forums. Register and read Transformers 2 rumors and post anything you hear or see online!

Witchblade teaser poster revealed, finds clothing unnecessary

Witchblade teaser movie poster

A Witchblade movie was recently announced and we now have a teaser poster. I think it pretty much speaks for itself, but for those that want more, here is a snippet from FirstShowing.Net:

The comic followed Sara Pezzini, a NYPD detective who comes into possession of the Witchblade, a supernatural, sentient artifact with immense destructive and protective powers. The artifact is actually an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation. We can expect that the film will follow a story based on that mythology with a central female character coming in possession of the gauntlet. IMDb lists Michael Rymer, of “Battlestar Galactica”, as the director, although his involvement is entirely unconfirmed at the moment. The film is expected to go into production this September for a 2009 release.

Review: Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

Zac Shipley and Sean Orange took in the latest Harrison Ford epic and wonder aloud if it was all worth it, and if we deserve another.

Star Wars Clone Wars Trailer

swtcwsuck.jpg
Here is the theatrical trailer to the next last most current Star Wars movie. Yeah, I thought I could close that chapter of my life with Revenge Of The Shit, but the bearded bastard has decided the first string of episodes of the next Clone Wars animated series are good enough to be a movie. With the way the last 3 movies went, it would be hard for it not to be as good. I liked the pilot episode to Justice League, but I didn’t think it should be projected on a screen.
How many people here are ready to bury Star Wars and never look back? With as many bad movies as there are good ones, and more bad books, games, and action figures than I can possibly count, I’m ready to declare this franchise DEAD. It lives on like a zombie, feeding of nostalgia and blind faith in the Jedi arts. The space opera of the Skywalker clan is running on fumes. If I end up in the theater watching this, it will surely be a mistake. Disagree and flame me if you must, but try to think of one moment in the last nine years since Phantom Menace that we’ve been able to be proud and excited about Star Wars… What have you got?

Newest “Dark Knight” Trailer

We’ve got the newest trailer from “Batman: Dark Knight”, coming this summer. This one seems to be the longest of the trailers we’ve seen thus far, and has a couple of perhaps spoilerific hints as to some of the more hush-hush details of the flick, including some prelude shots that reveal the ‘grittier’ details of Gotham District Attorney Harvey Dent.

The scenes are oh-so delicious. This movie will be well worth the wait.

Scarlett in GIJOE Movie First Look

Paramount sent a photo to JoBlo of actress Rachel Nichols all dolled up as the heroic Master Sergeant Shana M. O’Hara, better known as Scarlett.

Looks dead-on, right down to the cross bow. Not unlike Wolverine in X-Men, she gave up the yellow on her suit to a more realistic all black. Combine this with our first glance at Snake Eyes, and I’m a pretty excited fan. No telling how good the acting, action, and writing will be until we see the movie (or at least a trailer), but if Michael Bay could make Transformers, maybe Stephen Sommers can make GIJOE.
